We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join the Passage team. Passage is a small team within 1Password building an authentication platform for teams to easily deliver passwordless authentication to their end users at scale.
We are looking for an engineering leader who is excited about the challenges that come with building cutting edge technology, rapid product evolution and scale, and is inspired by effective developer platforms.
This is a Remote opportunity within Canada and the US.

What we're looking for:

  • Some experience in a role where you were responsible for managing a team of software engineers.
  • Several years of relevant industry experience in high-velocity engineering roles.
  • Experience managing technical delivery in an environment of iterative release cycles.
  • The ability to create and maintain a positive, healthy team environment in which everyone is supported, encouraged, and meaningfully challenged to do great work. You motivate and inspire others. After meeting with you, people get back to their job with more energy. You are a force of positivity and lift people up when they need it.
  • You enjoy having the freedom and responsibility to make final decisions on almost everything for your team. Handling tough problems gives you energy and you can make the hard decisions even when there isn’t much information to go on.
  • You are ready to roll up your sleeves and get to work yourself on technical challenges.
  • The ability to implement tools, processes, and methodologies to increase the velocity and day to day life of the team.
  • You are an effective communicator to your team, peers, and leaders in the organization.

What you can expect:

  • Manage engineers from Junior to Staff level. Foster an environment of innovation, execution, and collaboration.
  • Work to scope and plan key deliverables for projects and initiatives with the team.
  • Drive execution with an emphasis on iterations and deliverables, quality, velocity, and communication.
  • Provide technical leadership to developers both in your team and across the engineering organization.
  • Continue scaling a highly specialized engineering team by working with a team of Engineering Managers to continuously refine hiring, onboarding, and development processes.
United States-based roles only: The Annual salary for this role is between $180,000USD and $244,000USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs. All employees are owners of 1Password and receive an equity grant as part of their total package. At 1Password, we approach each individual's compensation with a promise of fair market value and internal equity commensurate with experience and specific skill set.
