Position Overview:

The Manager of the Unified Identity team will report directly to Andrew Niculescu and is responsible for building a unified identity system in support of our XAM initiative. The Manager sets the team’s strategic direction, manages operations, ensures successful delivery, and develops a high-performing team to achieve impactful results.

About the team

We’re building the next generation of identity infrastructure—centralized, secure, and privacy-first. Our mission is to ensure every identity is managed with precision, trust, and strong cryptographic protection. We’re looking for a leader who has shaped large-scale IAM systems in end-to-end encrypted environments to help us scale securely.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong IAM background: Experience building or scaling centralized identity systems with an emphasis on reliability and performance.

  • Engineering leadership: 3+ years managing engineers through net-new, large project delivery—preferably in the identity space.

  • Cryptography expertise: Experience working with end-to-end encryption systems and delivering work despite the limitations such systems impose.

  • Hands-on technical depth: Able to “speak the language” of your team, guiding architecture design and overall technical direction

  • People-centric leadership: The ability to create and maintain a positive, healthy team environment in which everyone is supported, encouraged, and meaningfully challenged to do great work. You motivate and inspire others. After meeting with you, people get back to their job with more energy. You are a force of positivity and lift people up when they need it.

  • Decision: You enjoy having the freedom and responsibility to make final decisions on most everything for your team. Handling tough problems gives you energy and you can make the hard decisions even when there isn’t much information to go on.

  • Cross-team collaboration: Experience delivering projects that involve multiple engineering teams, as well as cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the strategic roadmap for IAM projects—from IDP ingestion to lifecycle and provisioning.

  • Lead delivery of large-scale, resilient systems while working in an end-to-end encrypted environment, addressing key management, user privacy, and secure interoperability.

  • Mentor engineers to deepen their technical skills in IAM, cryptography, and secure system design.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Security, Product, Infrastructure) to ensure identity flows are usable and resilient.

  • Build and maintain high-performing, diverse teams—leading hiring, onboarding, and career development.

What You Can Expect

  • High ownership: Lead ground-up delivery of critical identity infrastructure.

  • Tangible impact: Your work will be central to every customer identity interaction and core to our product’s trustworthiness.

  • Cross-team collaboration: You excel in managing cross-team and cross-functional collaboration with engineering teams.

  • Growth environment: Thrive in a fast-paced, ambitious organization that values honesty, security, and clarity in communication.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with federation protocols (OIDC, SAML, SCIM, OAuth2).

  • Background in zero trust architectures or cryptographically enforced data policies.

  • Previous roles launching enterprise-grade IAM or encryption-first systems.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Join a privacy-first culture that empowers engineers through clear, inclusive leadership.

  • Collaborate with a cross-functional, expert team building mission-critical identity systems.

  • Solve tough challenges—like balancing encryption, usability, and centralization in identity workflows.
