Job Description

  • (Internal Title: Project Management III)
    • Direct and coordinate project schedules and resource allocation within the individual project teams
    • Monitor and communicate the project scope to the project teams as well as updating the team of contract changes
    • Create and review project schedules with the client and project team to ensure on-time project delivery
    • Review initial project scope and buy-in to project budget. Execute and manage the assigned project or project elements from inception through to completion
    • Monitor all progress by the project teams on a daily basis, pinpoint possible issues with design, budgets, schedules and customers
    • Liaison between all departments to ensure time delivery of purchased items and on time delivery of client machinery and equipment
    • Ensure contractual communication is clearly understood and the information is completely and clearly transferred from Applications through to the Project Management by using the ‘Open Book Project Communication’ method
    • Co-chair company’s project meetings to ensure all department leaders meet design specifications, schedules and project budgets
    • Ensure completion of all project contract deliverables through verification checklists including internal pre - shipment check lists are complete
    • Participate in the development of change order proposals
    • Attend design review meetings to confirm project scope is met
    • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
    • Ability to communicate effectively with personnel, resolve and trouble shoot potential problems with supervisors
    • Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies and contingency plans
    • Supervise, track, and report on performance against project requirements, schedule, milestones, budgets, quality measures, and KPIs, and address issues with corrective actions as appropriate
    • Consult with the assigned manager or higher to seek guidance and input during the key phases of a project
    • Complete any tasks assigned by manager or higher in an efficient and timely manner

Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Project Management / custom automation industry within a supervisory role
    • Experience in strategic planning and execution
  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Engineering / Robotics Automation Technology
    • Education in Project Management or Business Economics would is preferred
  • Licenses OR Certifications:
    • Holding a recognized Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Proficiency with MS office based software and MS Project
    • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Solid Works would be an asset
    • Ability to work in a team environment and actively participate in group meetings safely
    • Ensure scheduled milestones are met
    • Notify the appropriate departments if milestones are not met
    • Maintain good corporate citizen role in support of the client corporate Vision
    • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the client's code of conduct
    • Foster the development of a culture reflective of the core values of the business
    • Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, accounting principles and sound business practices
    • Knowledge of structuring resource planning, managing budgets and revenue expectations
    • Strong supervision, delegation, and capacity development abilities
    • Detailed experience in effectively leading mid-sized multi-disciplinary project teams
    • Competent to perceive and ameliorate conflict and tension
    • Ability to arrange priorities and escalate competing risks to meet deadlines with minimum input from leadership
    • Keen eye for detail and adept problem-solving abilities
    • Must have demonstrated experience relaying and receiving information (written and verbal)
    • Expert ability to work collaboratively and independently in a structured, disciplined, technology-driven environment
