THE WORK:

  • You’ll set and drive the national proposal strategy, standards, and delivery model, ensuring alignment with industry priorities and market positioning.
  • You’ll partner closely with Industry Captains, Regional Leads, Growth & Sales Enablement, and Operations to integrate win themes and differentiators into each submission.
  • You’ll lead strategic bid direction sessions, storyboarding, and value proposition development for priority pursuits.
  • You’ll build and refine proposal frameworks, processes, and templates that enable scale and efficiency.
  • You’ll oversee the creation and maintenance of resume, project, and boilerplate libraries, ensuring content is current, relevant, and reusable.
  • You’ll ensure submissions are compliant, compelling, on-brand, and differentiated across all regions and sectors.
  • You’ll build the capability to support interview preparation for pursuit teams, including coaching on messaging, presentation skills, and win-theme delivery.
  • You’ll establish seamless handover processes from early-stage capture (Growth & Sales Enablement) to live proposal execution.
  • You’ll partner with Operations to ensure compliance, intake, governance, and data accuracy throughout the bid lifecycle.
  • You’ll manage and grow a team of bid and proposal professionals, including Bid Directors, Senior Proposal Managers, Coordinators, and Designers.
  • You’ll design and manage a surge capacity resourcing model to meet peak pursuit demands.
  • You’ll drive workload management, resource allocation, role clarity, and professional development plans.
  • You’ll foster a high-performance, detail-oriented, and adaptable team culture that thrives under tight deadlines while delivering exceptional work.
  • You’ll oversee pursuit intake, go/no-go reviews, and executive summaries for key opportunities.
  • You’ll track proposal outcomes, win/loss trends, proposal quality, cycle times, content reuse rates, and resource allocation efficiency to drive continuous improvement.
  • You’ll serve as a key contributor to national growth forecasts and reporting, ensuring proposals align with pipeline priorities.
  • You’ll lead lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives across the proposal function.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Minimum fifteen (15) years of experience in bid and proposal development or pursuit strategy, including at least eight (8) years in a leadership role

BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:

  • Proven success managing and winning complex proposals in a competitive, matrixed environment
  • Deep understanding of the RFP lifecycle, compliance, and proposal operations
  • Experience building or scaling a centralized proposal function or shared service model
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and project management skills
  • Highly organized, resourceful, and able to lead under pressure
