Accenture Construct - Cost Lead, COM

Project Controls | Full-time
Job No. 1587 | Vancouver
Apply for this job

You've Never Been Satisfied with “Good Enough.”

You didn't get into this to manage one piece of a project. You got into it to change how the world gets built.

At Accenture Construct, that's the job. You'll help deliver the data centers, power grids, rail networks, factories and public infrastructure that keep communities moving — smarter, safer and more sustainably.

You'll work alongside people who think big and act bold: project managers, engineers, technologists and strategists who pair real-world delivery with AI. And you won't be handed a slice of it. We take on whole programs, from early strategy through construction and handover, and we stand behind how they land.

Because “good enough” builds the past. You're here to build what's next.

(Internal Title: Cost Lead)

  • Support the project execution team on cost, time, schedule, change management, and reporting for successful project delivery
  • Develop a plan for integrated project controls including scope, cost, schedule, and progress of assigned projects based on industry best practices and by incorporating client’s requirements when required
  • Facilitate the change management process and continuously forecast project schedule and cost impacts
  • Review and analyze project information and provide guidance to the project execution team on the project health
  • Prepare and review project controls gate deliverables with Project Managers and Engineers
  • Follow procedures for consistency and predictability, and escalate any improvement of deficiency in the process or procedures
  • Establish the resources and organization (skills, manpower, list of tools and procedures applicable, and communications) needed to achieve the control strategy to ensure the consistent implementation of the project control system for all projects
  • Formulate the overall Project Breakdown Structure to meet all control requirements and ensure that cost control and scheduling systems are compatible
  • Determine training materials needed to train project teams on the principles of schedule, cost, risk, and earned value management, and plan and procedures
  • Draft a detailed monthly report by gathering progress details through the collection and verification of information. Coordinate a management review and issue the report by the agreed deadline each month including cost, schedule, earned value, change control, contract administration, third-party recoveries, contingency utilization, and progress photos
  • Complete any tasks assigned by the supervisor in an efficient and timely manner

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Office-based
  • With all our roles, there is some in-person time for collaboration, learning and building relationships with clients, peers, leaders and communities. As an employer, we will be as flexible as possible to support your specific work/life needs.
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience on large capital projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Finance

BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:

  • In-depth experience in computer-based scheduling systems (Primavera P6 and MS Project)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of practices and procedures involved in project controls, with proven experience in the construction process
  • Solid understanding of core project control concepts (WBS, RBS, CBS, CPM-based scheduling, and Earned Value)
  • Ability to arrange priorities and escalate competing risks to meet deadlines with minimum input from leadership
  • Keen eye for detail and adept problem-solving abilities
  • Must have demonstrated experience relaying and receiving technical information (written and verbal)
  • Must foster positive relationships with various internal and external stakeholders
  • Independently tailor technical information for different audiences through presentations, reports, and other means
  • Expert ability to work collaboratively and independently in a structured, disciplined, technology-driven environment

What's in it for you

  • The biggest builds going. Hyperscale data centers, grid and generation, transit and rail, chip fabs, mines, water. If it's complex and it matters, it's on our list.

  • You own the outcome. Not a workstream. Not a deliverable. Whether the program lands.

  • AI that shows up on site. Program control that predicts instead of records. You'll use it, and you'll help shape it.

  • Scale without the distance. More than 5,000 practitioners across the Americas, EMEA and APAC, on a team small enough that people know your name.

  • Serious investment in you. Leadership development, technical upskilling and certification support.

  • Work that outlasts you. People will use what you build for forty years without knowing your name. That's the point.

  • Recognition that means something in this industry. Accenture Construct is ranked #6 globally in ENR's 2026 Top 50 Program Management Firms and #4 in Building Design + Construction's Top 80 Construction Management Firms for 2026.
