About the Role

As ATB Wealth’s next Financial Advisor, ATB Prosper you will deliver exceptional client experiences through a variety of digital channels, driven by a client-first mindset and led by expert advice tailored to our client’s investment needs. Reporting to the Team Lead, ATB Prosper Fulfillment, you will proactively reach out to clients to provide advice, open investment accounts, conduct reviews, and process transaction requests, etc. ensuring every client is set up for financial success. You will also support ongoing project work and the day-to-day maintenance of clients profiles ensuring they’re maintained inline with our compliance and operational standards.

Accountabilities

  • Client Obsession: Own the client experience at every interaction; enabling clients to self-serve through ATB Prosper but remaining available through digital channels to provide expert advice
  • Expert Advice: Utilize the principals of KYC and KYP to understand clients’ short and long-term financial goals and needs while recommending the most appropriate strategy
  • Digital Guidance: Promote digital advocacy by sharing our digital tools and resources to help clients make informed decisions as it relates to their financial goals
  • Teamwork: Work in a collaborative team environment on various projects, owning the client experience and ensuring the long-term success of those projects, including but not limited to estate settlements, credit balance reviews, client transitions, etc.
  • Task Management: Action tasks assigned from our digital queues and team inboxes
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure client information is kept up to date and conduct full suitability reviews as needed during interactions including but not limited to; account openings, portfolio updates, contributions, withdrawals, etc.
  • Internal Networking: Leverage ATB partners and internal resources (e.g. Senior Financial Advisors, Business Bankers, Mortgage specialists, ATB Financial Personal Bankers, etc.) to deepen client relationships by delivering an integrated experience
  • Feedback: Participate in the evolution of our ATB Prosper digital investing experience by providing ongoing feedback to improve and enhance the offer
  • Driven to Perform: Meet or exceed established annual performance targets and main role accountabilities
  • Regulatory Compliance: Understand and adhere to investment industry regulations as well as internal compliance policy requirements at all times including recording detailed notes and documents of every interaction with clients

Skills, Experience & Requirements

  • Completion of post secondary education with either a College Diploma in Financial Services or Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in any field
  • Immediate ability to register as a Registered Representative (RR) with CIRO by having any of the following:
    • Currently a Registered Representative (RR) through CIRO, OR
    • Minimum completion of CFA Level 1, OR
    • Chartered Investment Manager Designation (CIM) in good standing, OR
    • Completion of Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam (CIRE) & Retail Securities Exam (RSE) by date of hire
  • Strong work ethic with an ability to stay focused through periods of high volume in an autonomous remote work environment
  • Knowledge of wealth management solutions, including relevant compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Proven ability to use critical thinking to make informed decisions independently with an ability to navigate and de-escalate unexpected situations effectively
  • Exceptional attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and thorough execution of all requests
  • Highly service-oriented, providing professional, accurate, and timely support to both team members and clients
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Growth mindset with the ability to apply feedback from colleagues and leaders
  • Minimum 3 years of related wealth management experience is preferred
  • Actively pursuing a QAFP or CFP certification is expected as part of this role
  • Working knowledge of google suite systems, Salesforce and Dataphile considered a strong asset
  • Past work experience providing financial advice digitally would be considered a strong asset
