About the Role

Unlock your potential as a Financial Analyst and become a key player in shaping ATB's future. This unique opportunity offers vital financial and operational support to our business partners across ATB. You'll gain invaluable experience in budget and forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis including foundational work with month-end analysis, financial reconciliations, data visualizations, and process documentation.

This role is integral to our team, performing insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, helping to maintain budgeting and forecast models to assess performance and identify opportunities for improvement. Your work will directly impact the day-to-day financial operations of Strategic Support Units at ATB, providing meaningful information that aids senior management in making key decisions for ATB Financial. Accountabilities

Here's what you'll be doing to drive impact at ATB:

Reporting and Analysis

  • Performance Monitoring: Execute month-end closing processes including completion of journal entries, financial reconciliations and preparation of accurate management reports to track financial health.
  • Strategic Insights: Analyze financial drivers and business trends to provide actionable insights on the impact of operational decisions.
  • Forecasting and Budgeting: Build and maintain robust financial models and templates to support annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting cycles.
  • Predictive Analysis: Utilize historical data to identify patterns, helping the business unit anticipate future challenges.

Business Partnership and Advisory

  • Relationship Management: Cultivate strong, reciprocal relationships across the organization to ensure alignment on deliverables and communication.
  • Data Visualization and Presentation: Design and develop intuitive visual aids within Google Slides to translate complex datasets into clear financial narratives for internal stakeholders
  • Ad-hoc Support: Provide day-to-day financial guidance and support on special projects within the Strategic Support Unit areas.

Compliance and Optimization

  • Governance: Ensure all financial activities strictly adhere to IFRS standards, enterprise policies, and internal controls.
  • Process Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to enhance finance systems and workflows.
  • Collaboration: Contribute to a high-performing finance team environment to collectively meet strict deadlines and organizational goals.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

What you bring to the table:

  • Strong Foundation: You hold a University Degree in Accounting and have 2-5 years related experience. Possession of, or working towards a professional CPA designation is considered an asset.
  • A Sharp, Curious Mind: You're analytical, eager to learn, and love dissecting challenges to propose brilliant solutions.
  • Growth-Oriented: You embrace new challenges, roll up your sleeves, and are always looking for ways to expand your skills.
  • A Proactive Driver: You're not afraid to speak up, challenge the status quo, and identify opportunities for real improvement.
  • A Collaborative Spirit: You build strong relationships, effortlessly connecting and partnering with diverse teams – people genuinely love working with you.
  • Tech Savvy: You're proficient in Google Sheets, with bonus points for experience in large databases, query development, or SAP.
