About the Role
Please note: This is a temporary 17 month term opportunity. This position has a hybrid work arrangement. Please note that this is subject to change due to business priorities.
As ATB’s next Portfolio Analyst, you will provide day to day support to the ATB Business lending teams by completing loan transactions for a portfolio of high dollar value corporate borrowers, in conjunction with all operational credit related tasks. This role is accountable for minimizing losses to ATB Financial through careful monitoring and administration of the portfolio while adhering to established practices and operating guide procedures. Other tasks include issuing Letters of Credit (LC), calculation of standby fees, and file maintenance. This role must ensure that all the inputs are completed on time and accurate, with a great attention to detail to avoid potential loss and reputational risk.
Accountabilities
- Risk: Responsible for analyzing and implementing reports from Risk, Compliance, Internal Controls, and Finance. Monitors and maintains reporting requirements tied to credit agreements, such as covenants, margining, insurance, and financial reporting and follows up or escalates any late or non-compliant items.
- Credit: Manually updates and maintains loan details in line with approved Credit Applications, Commitment Letters, and Credit Agreements. Interprets and validates credit documents to ensure accurate system entry. Ensure all Sales Team requirements, including Security Registrations and Conditions Precedent, are met and approved before loan funding.
- Loan Origination & Maintenance: Maintains deal specific control spreadsheets as quick reference guides for each borrower. Responsible for loan origination and SAP entry for new loans, including key details such as interest rates, terms, and limits. Ensures timely and accurate loan maintenance, covering fees, maturities, pricing, and terminations, and monitors and reconciles internal accounts.
- Building Relationships: Collaborate closely with Sales partners to foster strong, trust based relationships that enhance communication, workflow efficiency, and the overall client experience. Facilitate deal team meetings and maintain open communication with business partners. Serve as the voice of ATB by providing knowledgeable, high level support to clients. Support the lending process through direct client interaction, including Mastercard and Letter of Credit applications.
Skills, experience & requirements
- Post secondary education or diploma. A focus in Business or Accounting is considered an asset or an equivalent combination of relevant education, experience and training.
- 3+ years of experience with either Business/Commercial lending, loan administration or Financial Institution experience.
- Proficient in financial analysis and interpretation of financial statements
- Strong technical proficiencies, including G-Suite programs, and the ability to quickly learn various other technical programs such as TRBK and CRM.
- Client obsessed, performance driven team player with a track record of success, focused on belonging, growth, and continuous improvement.
- Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients and cross functional teams.
- Highly organized with effective listening abilities, combined with keen attention to detail and strong problem solving skills to effectively manage priorities and navigate complex situations.
