About the Role

As ATB’s new Senior Manager/Director, Credit Portfolio Management, you will be actively involved in developing portfolio optimization and investor relations strategies. As a member of the Credit Portfolio Management team, you will be complementing our existing credit risk portfolio optimization efforts; you will work alongside Risk, Treasury, Finance, and ATB’s areas of expertise to support ATB’s strategic goals for achieving optimal risk-adjusted returns.
Accountabilities
Under the guidance of the Head, Credit Portfolio Management, you will provide Investment and Risk Oversight by:
- Identifing, assessing, and leveraging credit risk distribution opportunities to optimize the credit portfolio.
- Supporting the development of an optimal credit portfolio through the application of advanced analytical techniques for assessing and managing concentration risks.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and execute strategies for strengthening credit portfolio returns and mitigating loan loss volatility.
- Preparing and delivering investor presentations, and provide essential support for trade execution.
- Building and maintaining robust relationships with investors.
- Ensuring rigorous compliance with all portfolio risk parameters, internal policies, regulatory guidelines, and transaction legal documentation.
- Acting as a subject matter expert, providing proactive analysis and risk rating of the credit portfolio in alignment with ATB’s risk appetite and concentration targets.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of ATB's credit portfolio management capabilities.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas: Portfolio Management, Treasury, Consulting, Structured Finance (including buy-side and sell-side), or an internally focused portfolio optimization function.
- Strong comprehension of financial risk instruments and concepts, credit products, complex financing, and product structures.
- Proven ability to prepare and deliver compelling presentations to senior internal audiences and investors.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Articulate and decisive communicator, capable of effective negotiation both internally and externally with investors.
- Demonstrated flexibility to adapt and re-prioritize efforts within an evolving business environment.
Beneficial/Preferred Experience:
- Experience with primary synthetic securitization issuance and execution.
- Background in financial structuring or structured products.
- Knowledge of industry legislation and regulation.
Additional Information
- This role has a hybrid work arrangement. You can work from anywhere in Alberta, but you will be required to attend in-person meetings in Calgary or Edmonton as needed.
- This is a temporary position to cover maternity leave, with the potential to become permanent.
- Expected start date will be early to mid-May 2026, with a duration of 12 months.
- This role will be filled at either the M or N level, depending on experience.
