Position Summary
BCIT’s School of Transportation is seeking a regular, full-time (1.0 FTE) Faculty, Motorcycle Technician Program. This position will join the Automotive department at our Burnaby campus and teach in the Motorcycle Group.
Duties & Responsibilities
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Instruction to apprenticeship and/or entry level students.
  • Short-term coverage for full-time Faculty release.
  • Preparing for classroom presentations and practical demonstrations.
  • Working collectively with our Department Heads.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a Red Seal Endorsement as Motorcycle Technician for a minimum of 5 years.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practical skills necessary to instruct the curriculum.
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collegial manner within a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop course resources and training technologies.
  • Current computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and a Learning management system (LMS): ability to manage files located on a database.
  • Provincial Instructor Diploma or previous post-secondary instructing experience is an asset.
  • Supervisory experience an asset.
