| Position Summary | BCIT’s Ecological Restoration (ER) BSc Program (within the School of Construction and the Environment) is seeking a temporary, part-time (0.2 FTE) Instructor to teach Geospatial Applications in Natural Resource Management (RENR 7010) in the Fall 2026 Term. The ER BSc is a 2-year degree completion program (years 3 and 4). The program provides graduates with a world-class foundation in the fundamental science, applied knowledge, and technical skills needed to successfully manage degraded ecosystems. Students work with our many professional partners on a wide range of applied projects, thereby gaining experience in addressing many current environmental challenges. Graduates have an excellent track record of securing positions with consulting companies, nonprofit organizations, as well as all levels of government, including First Nations. |
| Duties & Responsibilities | DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Applicants are strongly encouraged to review the course description and learning outcomes at this link: Geospatial Applications in Natural Resource Management (RENR 7010). General responsibilities will include all aspects related to teaching this course, including delivering lectures, facilitating applied learning, assessing student work, and mentoring students. The successful candidate will be provided course materials, which can be modified to suit the candidate’s strengths/experience. Other responsibilities will be based on the strengths of the successful candidate and the needs of the program. Experience using geospatial assessments/analyses in the environmental sciences is a very strong advantage. |
