| Position Summary | BCIT’s School of Business and Media is seeking a temporary, part-time (0.267 FTE) Faculty member to teach in the marketing management diploma in the fall term (September to December) in the area of digital marketing for tourism. Courses are taught on weekdays, between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm, in person and on campus in Burnaby. |
| Duties & Responsibilities | Course: MKTG 4431 Digital Marketing https://www.bcit.ca/outlines/20253051097/ The hiring committee is seeking an industry expert with a passion for teaching and learning and strong commitment to ensuring students develop applied skills and specialized knowledge. Applicants should have 8+ years of experience in digital marketing, including demonstrated success developing and executing online marketing strategies and building owned, earned, and paid media campaigns for acquisition, conversion, retention, and growth objectives. Experience with SEO, paid search, display advertising, and social media marketing is required. Candidates are expected to bring recent, relevant examples of strategies they have developed and implemented, along with current hands-on expertise to clearly demonstrate key processes and tools in practice. A balance of strategic perspective and tactical proficiency is essential for teaching this course. Demonstrated experience in the tourism sector is required. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong self-direction and leadership, the ability to adapt quickly to new environments, and a commitment to supporting the next generation of marketers, as shown through mentoring or related experience. They will also bring experience coaching, teaching, or managing teams in marketing strategy development and execution contexts. Candidates without prior teaching experience at BCIT will be encouraged to complete the Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW) and Educational Technology training offered through BCIT’s Learning and Teaching Centre (https://www.bcit.ca/learning-teaching-centre/ltc-workshops/instructional-skills-workshops-isw/ and https://www.bcit.ca/learning-teaching-centre/ltc-workshops/educational-technology-training/ ) if they do not already have this preparation. |
