Position Description:

We have a rewarding career opportunity for a Senior Financial Analyst to support the Western Canada business unit.
Reporting directly into the WBU Controllership group, you will be primarily responsible for collaborating with business unit leadership, operations and finance colleagues across the western Canadian provinces to deliver accurate, timely and highly valued accounting and financial support.

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be working on a team supporting the four provinces of Western Canada but mainly with a focus on the Saskatchewan office. This role will require communication and interaction with multiple internal clients, finance colleagues, and operations across multiple time zones.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Delivering accurate, insightful and timely analysis of financial results
• Working closely with business unit partners to understand their business, help them understand their financial drivers, and challenge their assumptions;
• Ensure compliance with company policies
• Active involvement in annual budget and monthly forecast cycles
• Managing project and client financials according to contract; understanding key terms in contracts, financial implications of changes in those terms and the technical accounting impact of contracts; Various month end reports for Corporate and the Region
• Presentations in person and online to the Saskatchewan management team
• Propose improvements to the supporting analyses in order to improve accuracy and efficiency
• Other tasks as identified

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Post-secondary education in business or equivalent
• Accounting designation (CPA) or current CPA student or equivalent
• 2-3 years experience in a similar role
• Advanced skills with MS Office tools (especially Excel)
• Proficient in English (written and spoken) is required
• Experience, proficiency and comfort in communicating and working effectively at various levels, including senior management
• Proven analytical skills and ability to communicate to non-finance stakeholders
• Has the ability to share knowledge and is capable of being cognizant of divergent viewpoints in a diverse, multi-cultural environment
• Ability to manage priorities
• Autonomous and strong capacity to work under pressure
