Position Description:

We are seeking an experienced Kubernetes cloud administrator to join our dynamic Cloud Operations team, where you will be a key member responsible for administering, automating, and optimizing Kubernetes infrastructure and services across various cloud platforms, ensuring the availability, security, scalability, and performance of our cloud-native and hybrid containerized environments; the Kubernetes Cloud Administrator delivers secure, reliable, and scalable Kubernetes-based solutions across multiple clients with a strong emphasis on automation, Infrastructure as Code for Kubernetes deployments, CI/CD pipeline integration for containerized applications, monitoring of Kubernetes clusters, and system reliability within containerized environments, requiring significant hands-on experience in public cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure) with a deep understanding of their Kubernetes offerings (GKE, EKS, AKS), scripting, containerization (Docker, etc.), Kubernetes orchestration tools, and DevOps best practices specifically applied to containerized applications within various cloud environments.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Administer and maintain highly available and scalable Kubernetes clusters on Azure
Implement and manage Kubernetes networking, storage, and security configurations.
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for provisioning and managing Kubernetes resources (Terraform, Helm).
Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for deploying containerized applications to Kubernetes.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Kubernetes deployments, networking, storage, and application performance within containers.
Implement robust monitoring and logging solutions for Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
Automate routine Kubernetes administration tasks using scripting languages (Python, Bash).
Implement and enforce security best practices for Kubernetes environments, including RBAC, network policies, and secrets management.
Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth and efficient deployment and scaling of containerized applications on Kubernetes.
Stay up-to-date with the latest Kubernetes features, best practices, and security updates.
Contribute to the development of internal documentation and knowledge sharing related to Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
7 years of experience administering and managing Kubernetes clusters in a production cloud environment.
Required Skills:
Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture and core concepts (Pods, Services, Deployments, StatefulSets).
Extensive hands-on experience with managed Kubernetes services on at least one major cloud provider (GKE, EKS, AKS).
Proficiency in containerization technologies (Docker, containerd) and container registries.
Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, particularly for Kubernetes (Terraform, Helm).
Proven experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines for containerized applications (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Argo CD, Tekton).
Excellent scripting skills in at least one language (Python, Bash) for automation.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools in a Kubernetes environment (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Datadog).
Solid understanding of networking principles relevant to Kubernetes (CNI, service discovery, load balancing).
Knowledge of Kubernetes security best practices and tools (RBAC, network policies, secrets management, security scanning).
Familiarity with DevOps principles and practices in the context of cloud-native applications.
Preferred Skills (Optional):
Experience with multiple cloud providers' Kubernetes offerings.
Familiarity with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd).
Experience with Kubernetes operators.
Relevant Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD, CKS).
