Position Description:

CGI is looking for a seasoned Database Administrator. The preferred candidate will work with his/her colleagues of same and different domains for the delivery and support of new/existing IT and Databases Solution for our clients to ensure high availability, security, performance and business continuity. The person who gets this position will join our dynamic team to work on challenging projects and environments. The preferred candidate is one that has demonstrable hands-on experience on Oracle Exadata X9 or higher and experience administering critical database infrastructure. Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Responsible for ensuring maximum up-time with maximum throughput to meet established service-level agreements (SLAs), ensuring backup integrity, and providing support to development and application support groups as needed. • Installation, upgrades, daily support, performance tuning (19c and above), backup/recovery/duplication, monitoring primary+ standby databases.

• Administration and use of Oracle Golden Gate and other tools such as OEM. • Monitor database and server performance and identify current and future potential bottlenecks. • Assist in the development of rich documents/guides for processes, procedures, and troubleshooting.

• Management of database resources, capacity planning, patching as well as proactive database support.

• Gathering and communicate database performance metrics for internal and external audiences.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Minimum of 7 years+ of work experience as an Oracle DBA in a team setting, providing 24/7 support to mission-critical applications and databases. Able to do scripting and automation

• Understanding of other database technologies e.g. PostgreSQL is desirable Other related Technical

Skills:
• Experience supporting Oracle in a production environment up to version 23ai on Exadata and non-exadata.
• Working Knowledge about Oracle Exadata and Exadata Resource Management (IORM), Smart Scan.

• Practical knowledge of Oracle Encryption TDE, NNE, SSL etc. (at Rest, in Transit, Vault Server), database auditing and security.
• Extensive performance Tuning and improvement using OEM/AWR/ADDM/ASHRPT etc.
• Backup and recovery , RMAN as well as disaster recovery.
• Oracle ASM, Grid Infrastructure, RAC, Oracle Data Guard, OGG (preferred)
• Upgrades and Patches and understanding of Oracle Advanced Compression.
• Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control (OEM 13c/24ai).
• Strong familiarity with Unix/Linux command line interface.
• Significant experience with shell scripting on Unix/Linux.
• Tune database code (packages, procedures, functions, triggers, etc.) for the application as required.
• Provide support to the customers/developers to resolve their technical problems with the data and/or database.

Preferred:
• Knowledge of Oracle database 19c & Oracle Exadata
• Familiarity with Exadata storage cells, ROCE Education and Certifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or closely-related • Relevant Oracle database certification

Other attributes:
• Good communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
• Able to professionally represent the DBA activities of our product within our organization.
• Capable of formulating policies and procedures for DBA activities.
• Continuously look to improve/innovate data management processes.
• Work with minimal supervision.
