Position Description:

We are expanding in Atlantic Canada, and we need your skills, enthusiasm, and dedication as part of our team. We are seeking an experienced Software Developer at the level to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in back-end development using Python and front-end development using Angular, with extensive experience in modern web technologies and frameworks.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Design and develop a self-service orchestration platform akin to Dataiku or Domino Data Lab, tailored for internal users.
• Develop backend services and APIs to support orchestration, scheduling, and resource provisioning on AWS.
• Integrate with AWS services such as ECS, EKS, Lambda, Step Functions, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and others.
• Implement role-based access control, audit logging, and usage tracking.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and iterate on platform capabilities.
• Ensure platform scalability, reliability, and security in a regulated environment.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices
• Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in cloud-native development and MLOps.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• This is an onsite opportunity requiring 5 days work from CGI Halifax or Moncton office every week.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, preferably in financial services or enterprise platforms.
• Strong proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript (Angular preferred).
• Hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud-native architecture.
• Experience building orchestration or workflow platforms, internal developer platforms, or MLOps tools.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and serverless computing.
• Understanding of data science workflows and tools (e.g., Jupyter, MLflow, Airflow).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
