Software Application Developer

Position Description:
CGI has an immediate opportunity for a software developer that can enhance existing applications as well as create new components and services to deliver core banking software to a group of financial institutions in Canada. The developer is responsible for designing and developing specific code based on detailed functional specifications of analysis documents for the purposes of maintaining or enhancing the Wealthview core banking platform. The Developer interacts with their Business Analysts, Project Manager and client resources to provide quality code and deliverables as defined by the project.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
The successful candidate should have core banking application development experience. Further details are below:
• Maintain the architectural integrity of the Wealthview Banking application.
• Work with Product Management to create product requirement specifications and provide effort estimates
• Work with business analysts to created detailed design specifications and provide effort estimates
• Provide technical documentation to various groups including operations, documentation and training
• Develop code per defined client coding standards
• Perform code reviews ensuring code conforms to architectural standards
• Conduct performance analysis
• Create new or modify existing application code based on functional specifications
• Provide unit and system testing to ensure that all the application changes have been developed with a low error rate.
• Fix any problems that come out of Unit or Quality Assurance testing.
• Troubleshooting and debugging of the Wealthview Banking application in order to identify and resolve faults
• Escalate any items to the PM that are perceived to be out of scope for the project.
Required Work Experience:
Minimum 8 years in progressive IT Sector
• Minimum 8+ years of work experience as a developer
Level of Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and/or Business or
• Diploma in IT and/or Business with Equivalent IT Experience
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Must Have -Technical Skills:
• Ability to analyze, interpret and communicate business information to both internal and external stakeholders of the project
• Strong analytic and problem solving skills
• A commitment to quality and a thorough approach to work
• Proficient in C++ and familiarity in C# and SQL Server
Nice to Have - Technical Skills:
• Experience with RFS, Wealthview banking or Ovation
• Experience with trace ability matrix

“CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors including but not limited to skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licensure and certification. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range in British Columbia is $65,000 - $130,000.”
