Position Description:

This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto (250 Yonge St, Toronto) and/or Client office at a minimum 2 days per week - subject to change at any time.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Enhance existing liquidity reporting applications built using Core Java and Scala/Spark.
• Ensure applications meet liquidity reporting requirements across geographies and regulatory standards.
• Integrate new functionalities and improve existing features to support data transformation and liquidity metrics reporting.
• Design, build, and optimize ETL pipelines (using DataStage, Talend, or similar ETL tools) to handle large, complex datasets across various platforms.
• Maintain data accuracy, integrity, and consistency in the liquidity reporting pipeline.
• Optimize data extraction, transformation, and load processes to ensure efficient and reliable data flows for both real-time and batch processing.
• Collaborate closely with business analysts, data engineers, and regulatory teams to translate requirements into scalable ETL and application solutions.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Java, Scala/Spark, and ETL components.
• Conduct unit testing, debugging, and performance tuning for ETL jobs, Java, and Spark applications.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Strong proficiency in Core Java development (multi-threading, memory management, data structures).
• Hands-on experience with Scala and Apache Spark for distributed data processing.
• 4–5 years of proven experience in building and maintaining ETL processes for data transformation and integration.
• Experience in ETL-based UI tools such as IBM DataStage, Informatica, or equivalent.
• Talend experience is highly desirable; if not, willingness to learn and quickly deliver Talend-based development tasks is required.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases, and ability to work with large, complex datasets.
• Understanding of regional liquidity reporting standards is an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with stakeholders and non-technical partners.
• Experience with cloud-based solutions (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with big data tools (Apache Hadoop, Kafka).
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of financial regulations related to liquidity reporting and compliance.
• Experience with capital markets, particularly liquidity and regulatory reporting, is highly desirable.
