Senior Project Manager

Position Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from inception through successful delivery. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while adhering to client's governance and PMO standards. The ideal candidate brings strong executive presence, financial acumen, and the ability to drive alignment across business and technology stakeholders.

Your future duties and responsibilities:
Project Planning & Execution
. Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including schedules, dependencies, resource allocations, and financial forecasts.
. Lead cross-functional teams through all phases of the project lifecycle (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure).
. Ensure compliance with client's PMO standards and SDLC governance.
. Identify and manage risks, issues, and interdependencies across workstreams.
. Drive proactive problem-solving and facilitate timely decision-making.
Stakeholder Engagement & Governance
. Establish and execute communication strategies across business and technology stakeholders.
. Lead core team meetings, stakeholder updates, and executive steering committees.
. Provide clear, data-driven status reporting and performance insights.
. Escalate risks and issues appropriately to ensure alignment and transparency.
Financial & Performance Management
. Manage project budgets, forecasts, and actuals; provide accurate monthly financial projections and accruals.
. Monitor CapEx vs. OpEx allocations and ensure financial compliance - MUST HAVE
. Track KPIs, delivery milestones, and resource utilization.
. Maintain centralized documentation and change management controls.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
. 8+ years of project management experience delivering complex technology and/or business transformation initiatives.
. Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid) and PMO governance frameworks.
. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams in a matrixed organization.
. Advanced financial management skills including budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking.
. Experience with enterprise PPM tools (e.g., Clarity, Planview, ServiceNow SPM) - Must Have.
. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, advanced reporting, macros preferred).
. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to executive leadership.
. Proven experience managing risks, dependencies, and change control processes.
Preferred:
. PMP or equivalent certification.
. Experience leading large-scale, enterprise-level initiatives.
. Consulting or client-facing delivery experience.
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $70,000.00–$135,000.00. This role is an existing vacancy.
