Position Description:

Work Mode: On-site – Remote work up to 2 days per week after 3 months, on a voluntary basis and subject to manager approval.

Job Summary

The position is based in Montréal and reports to the Banking Systems Team Lead, also located in Montréal.

The primary responsibility is to develop and support applications within the Commercial Banking perimeter. This includes understanding the risk and reporting flows of Commercial Banking applications used by the business, as well as supporting and improving the associated infrastructure (databases, critical overnight batch processing, month-end reporting, etc.).

The DWH Development & Support Specialist role relies on both technical expertise and business knowledge to support a wide range of applications across the Americas (United States, Brazil, and Canada).

The scope covers applications from two IT divisions:
• Corporate & Support Functions IT: Finance, Risk, Reference Data, Compliance, cross-functional applications, and corporate systems (HR, Administration, Internal IT, etc.).
• Corporate Banking IT: Commercial Banking (Front, Middle & Back Office), Payments, Customer Accounts, and Client Onboarding.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities
• Support and coordination of DWH interfaces and applications.
• Production support management: incidents, RCA, batch processes, user requests, ITIL compliance.
• Maintenance and optimization (ETL, SQL, automations).
• Project contributions: enhancements, Control M batch development, Shell/Perl scripting, database object changes.
• Technical design, documentation, and test strategy (unit, integration, UAT).
• Ensuring regulatory compliance and adherence to internal policies.

Technical Skills & Abilities
• Contribute to global architecture decisions (hardware, network, tools, software).
• Analyze, design, and guide technological solutions.
• Participate in business requirements gathering and specification definition.
• Propose and validate solution designs.
• Ensure proper implementation of requirements within information systems.
• Use technology tools to ensure data quality and analyze anomalies.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in functional testing for major projects or complex changes.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Desired Profile
• Flexibility to work outside business hours and participate in on call rotations (overnight and weekend batch support).
Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Required experience: 5 to 9 years
• Knowledge of DWH systems in a banking environment.
• Experience within an IT production support team (maintenance and enhancements).
• Experience supporting overnight batch processes, EOD and SOD cycles.
• Experience supporting Operations and Compliance teams.
• Knowledge of sanctions screening and AML (Anti Money Laundering) frameworks.
• Knowledge of project management and project lifecycle

Technical Requirements
• Experience in implementing, updating, and enhancing payment systems.
• Strong skills in databases, Linux and Windows environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio), SQL Server, Oracle PL/SQL, and Shell scripting.
• Knowledge of Control M.
• Experience designing technical architectures and solutions aligned with business needs.
• Hands-on experience with testing methodologies.
• Knowledge of JIRA is an asset.
• Experience coordinating with Infrastructure, IT Security, and Operations teams in the context of production payment systems.
• Experience working in an outsourcing model.

*Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $70,000–$135,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
