Position Description

MERN Stack Developer is responsible for designing, building, and delivering high quality full stack applications while driving best engineering practices across the team. This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto and/or Client office at a minimum 3 days per week - subject to change at any time.

Your future duties and responsibilities

• Planning and executing to meet sprint objectives as well as program/project milestones as a member of the scrum team
• Write responsive, well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices.
• Drive and enforce best practices (coding standards, documentation quality, CI/CD discipline).
• Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs, and lead estimation and feature planning as required.
• Collaborate with the Scrum team to plan milestones, successfully execute software delivery, and escalate issues as needed.
• Provide leadership and guidance, working with internal and external teams to deliver features.
• Provide coaching and reviews with internal team members with actionable technical feedback.
• Participate and support architectural decisions, and provide technical direction, to influence the long-term technical roadmap.
• Take strong ownership of application and services, ensuring effecting monitoring, observability, and deployment quality
  
  

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

• 10+ years' experience as a full-stack developer
• 5+ years' experience working with MERN (MongoDB, Express, React, Node) stack in a professional environment3)
• 3+ years of unit testing experience with both frontend and backend code
• 3+ years of experience working with microservice architecture
• 2+ years' experience working in Agile/ Scrum framework
• Experience with implementing authentication/authorization (e.g. oauth2 and SSO)7)
• Experience with CI/CD Pipelines
  
  

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors including but not limited to skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $80000 - $130000. This Role is an existing vacancy
