Position Description:

This is a hybrid role requiring onsite presence at the downtown Toronto office and/or client office a minimum of two days per week. Onsite requirements are subject to change.
Job Summary
This role supports payment modernization initiatives by performing hands-on testing for wire payment applications, with a strong focus on SWIFT CBPR+ and Fed ISO 20022 payment processing. The Quality Analyst validates cross-border payment flows, message transformation, system integrations, and end-to-end processing across multiple platforms.
The role works closely with business analysts, developers, QA teams, and payment operations partners to ensure accurate payment execution, message compliance, and downstream processing. Experience with FIS OPF Wire Engine and SWIFT Alliance Message Hub (AMH) / Wire Room is highly desirable.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Perform hands-on testing for payment applications supporting SWIFT CBPR+ and Fed ISO 20022 migration initiatives
• Design, prepare, and execute test cases, scenarios, and scripts for functional, integration, system, and end-to-end testing
• Validate ISO 20022 payment messages, including content, mapping, transformation, and routing
• Test inbound and outbound wire payment flows across processing systems and interfaces
• Analyze business and functional requirements and translate them into comprehensive test coverage
• Validate payment message formats such as pacs.008, pacs.009, pacs.004, camt, and related wire messages
• Test exception handling, including repairs, rejects, returns, cancellations, and investigation scenarios
• Collaborate with development and business teams to identify, document, track, and retest defects
• Support SIT, UAT, regression, and production validation activities
• Coordinate with upstream and downstream application teams to ensure complete end-to-end payment validation
• Review system logs, message payloads, and reconciliation outputs to confirm transaction accuracy
• Participate in test planning, defect triage, status reporting, and release support activities

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Strong hands-on experience testing payment or wire transfer applications
• Solid knowledge of SWIFT CBPR+ testing and message validation
• Solid knowledge of Fed ISO 20022 payment flows and testing requirements
• Experience working with ISO 20022 XML message structures, validation, and mapping
• Strong understanding of cross-border payments, wire transfers, and payment lifecycle events
• Experience with functional testing, integration testing, SIT, UAT, and regression testing
• Ability to create detailed test scenarios, test cases, and defect documentation
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to investigate message or transaction failures
• Experience using test management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA, ALM, or similar
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced banking or payments environment

• Exposure to payment hubs, middleware, and message transformation layers
• Understanding of MT to MX migration and coexistence testing
• Familiarity with settlement, reconciliation, sanctions screening, and payment repair workflows
• Prior experience in banking, treasury services, AML, or wholesale payments domains



**CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $65,000–$115,000. This role is an existing vacancy.**
