The Work
Reporting to the Vice President, Marketing, the Director, Creative will lead EQ Bank’s internal creative function – ensuring that every asset produced is strategically sound, insight-informed, and aligned to EQ’s evolving brand. This leader will set creative standards, build operational clarity across workflows, and integrate execution seamlessly across marketing, product, and agency partnerships.
As the steward of EQ’s visual and verbal brand expression, you will build and scale a nimble in-house team that prioritizes craft, efficiency, and measurable business results. You will position the creative team as strategic storytellers – driving growth, improving customer experience, and shaping the future of the brand.
The Core Responsibilities!
- Lead, develop, and inspire an in-house creative team of designers, writers, and production specialists within a pod-based structure.
- Deliver best-in-class integrated execution across email, digital, web, social, and advertising channels while championing brand consistency and clarity.
- Build operational maturity – owning team resourcing, prioritization, and process design in partnership with Marketing Operations.
- Collaborate closely with Marketing, Business Units, Performance Marketing, and Product Design to ensure creative aligns with campaign strategies, lifecycle plans, and commercial goals.
- Ensure creative output is informed by insights, customer needs, and performance results across channels.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, feedback, and responsible innovation—including AI integration to enhance efficiency and creative impact.
Let's Talk About You!
- 8–10+ years in creative leadership roles within brand or marketing teams (preferably in financial services, tech, e-commerce, or in-house creative team models).
- Demonstrated ability to balance strategic input with operational efficiency.
- Strong portfolio of work across digital channels, performance marketing, and integrated campaigns.
- Experienced in managing hybrid creative teams (in-house, and agency).
- Deep understanding of creative operations and scaling execution effectively.
- Skilled in building team culture and fostering collaboration across functions.

The incumbent will be working hybrid and in office time will be spent working from Equitable Bank’s additional office space located at 2200-25 Ontario Street, Toronto, ON.
