Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 5 years of experience building and launching products that leverage AI to solve real customer problems.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects.
  • 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
  • 2 years of experience developing AI Agents to build developer tools and enhance the developer experience.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 3 years of experience working in a matrixed organization.

Firebase Studio is Google’s AI-first development environment in the Cloud.
We are hiring a Software Developing Manager to lead critical work in the changing, highly-engaged space of AI-enhanced developer workflows. We are positioned to benefit developers building sophisticated, real-world apps by delivering AI-empowered pro-code functionality, rapid prototyping, and comprehensive support for a wide range of languages and frameworks.
In this role, you will define the technical goals and roadmap. You will recruit and mentor a team of developers, fostering a culture of rapid innovation and technical excellence. You will operate at the intersection of Generative AI, Cloud Infrastructure, and Developer Experience, handling technical and behavioral issues to define the next paradigm for software creation.

Responsibilities

  • Set and communicate team priorities that support Firebase Studio's goals. Align strategy, processes, and decision-making across teams.
  • Lead the design and implementation of solutions in developer experience and Agentic AI.
  • Lead the team to deliver in a very dynamic and rapidly evolving field by sharing knowledge about the latest developments in AI and how the team can harness these advances.
  • Provide technical guidance across our broader organization as partner teams explore ways to contribute to the developer experience.
