Introduction

The Solutions Engineering team serves as the primary technical resource and internal advocate for all Customers at HashiCorp. Through consultative engagement, we identify customers’ challenges and business requirements, establish a technical maturity roadmap, and leverage our product expertise to propose solutions that meet their needs. As trusted technical advisors, we work closely with our Customers to help them achieve their target outcomes and realize the full value of the HashiCorp solutions they’ve implemented.

In this role, you will understand Infrastructure as Code (IaC), security, networking, service discovery, and the application lifecycle as a single, interconnected flow. You will enhance your ability to make architectural decisions agnostic of any specific cloud or infrastructure. Additionally, you will be able to translate customer requirements into issues related to cost, risk, and organizational structure, rather than just technical problems. Furthermore, you will drive and validate the process of turning technology into actual revenue across global organizations. As an expert who defines problems and influences direction, you will grow into a trusted Solutions Engineer in multi-cloud and hybrid environments.

Your role and responsibilities

As a Solutions Engineer at HashiCorp, you will focus on supporting established customers in developed market segments of Singapore. You will partner closely with Sales representatives to and cross-functional teams to support entire lifecycle of HashiCorp’s Customer journey. This includes pipeline creation, achieving technical wins, onboarding, driving consumption, ensuring successful renewals. Your expertise and guidance will be crucial to unlock full potential of our solutions and achieve the customers' desired business outcomes.

  • Serve as a strategic advisor: act as HashiCorp’s technical advisor to customers, engaging with both hands-on engineering teams (e.g., DevSecOps, Security, Platform Engineering) and C-level stakeholders.

  • Engage, architect, and influence: build trusted relationships with stakeholders and drive strategic application, technology, and infrastructure decisions through compelling presentations, architectural design reviews, customized demos, Proofs of Value, forward-deployed engineering, hands-on workshops, troubleshooting.

  • Drive value realization: guide Customers through their cloud adoption journey, designing technical solutions aligned with their strategic priorities, multi-year programs, and corporate values, to drive HashiCorp adoption and revenue growth.

  • Demonstrate business value: articulate and prove the business value of HashiCorp solutions (e.g., Vault, Terraform, Consul) in solving the real needs of the end-users through discovered business-aligned metrics and impact conversations.

  • Provide authoritative guidance: give expert-level advice and direction on modern technology practices, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Authengication (AuthN) and Authorization (AuthZ), cloud architecture, containers orchestration (Kubernetes/OpenShift), security automation as part of DevSecOps and the broader Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

  • Drive adoption and expansion: drive customers’ Return on Investments (ROI) within adopted products and promote the adoption of multi-product integrated solutions, increasing the value of the IBM partnership.

We are seeking candidates with deep technical expertise and strong communication skills. We highly encourage practitioners (e.g., SREs, DevSecOps Leads, Platform Engineering Leads) with strong communication and presentation skills who are looking to transition into a Customer-facing business role to apply.

  • Experience: Experience in a Technical Pre-Sales/Sales Engineering role, OR equivalent hands-on experience in DevSecOps, SRE, or Cloud Architecture roles. Experience deploying or implementing solutions in large-scale, strictly governed, and change-controlled environments is a must.

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): proficiency with IaC principles. Hands-on, preferably production experience with Terraform is mandatory.

  • Cloud: expertise in at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including core services of a standard landing zone (VPC, IAM, compute, managed K8s).

  • Container orchestration: practical experience with Kubernetes (k8s), including managed services like EKS, GKE, or AKS.

  • DevSecOps and IAM Principles: demonstrated experience with CI/CD pipeline architecture (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) and methods of pan-environment Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA), encryption, and security for distributed services (e.g., mTLS, PKI, JWT, JIT).

  • Communication and Influence: verbal and written communication skills (English), with proven ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences (from engineers to executives) and converse with Customer stakeholders both formally and idiomatically.

Preferred technical and professional experience
  • HashiCorp Portfolio: Passed certification in HashiCorp stack (e.g., Vault and Terraform, or Terraform and Consul) at least at the Associate level, or equivalent practical production experience.

  • Regulatory: understanding of architecture requirements imposed by regulatory and advisory domains like MAS, IMDA, SCS, and what controls must be integrated into delivery (CI/CD), IAM and data flows.

  • Observability: experience with observability stacks and logs monitoring.

  • Cloud Certifications: relevant professional level certifications (e.g., CKA, AWS Solutions Architect Professional grade, or other Google, Microsoft, IBM, or RedHat certifications).

  • Open source contributions: personal and community-valued GitHub activity is always a big plus for our Solutions Engineers.
