In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting FutureNow Centers, where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities

As an Associate SAP Technical Package Specialist, you will support the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of SAP technical solutions. Working alongside functional teams, technical consultants, and client stakeholders, you will help translate business requirements into technical specifications, support testing and troubleshooting activities, and contribute to the delivery of integrated enterprise solutions. This is an entry-level opportunity for recent graduates who bring strong technical fundamentals, curiosity, and a willingness to learn SAP technologies in a team-based consulting environment.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Support Technical Solution Development: Work with functional teams to understand business requirements and help translate them into technical specifications and SAP-based solutions.
  • Contribute to System Enhancements: Participate in system upgrades, patching activities, and technical performance tuning to support solution stability and efficiency.
  • Provide Technical Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation while following established development standards and delivery practices.
  • Support Testing Activities: Assist with unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing to help ensure high-quality solution delivery.
  • Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues: Support the investigation of production issues and contribute to timely troubleshooting and resolution activities.
  • Collaborate on Integrations: Work with other technical and functional teams to help ensure seamless integration between SAP and existing enterprise systems and applications.
  • Continue Learning SAP Technologies: Build knowledge of SAP technologies, tools, and best practices while staying current with product advancements and innovation.
Required education
Bachelor's Degree
Required technical and professional expertise
  • Graduated within the last 24 months (MBA not accepted)
  • Agentic and Generative AI: Experience using Generative AI and agentic AI tools to support software development, documentation, workflow automation, technical research, and knowledge retrieval.
  • Ability to apply these tools responsibly with appropriate attention to accuracy, validation of outputs, data privacy, security, and human oversight.
  • Agile and Collaborative Delivery: Ability to work in an Agile, collaborative environment to understand requirements, support design and development activities, test solutions, and contribute to ongoing application support.
  • Data Analysis and Excel Skills: Strong Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to perform meaningful analysis of data sets, tables, spreadsheets, and related business or technical information.
  • Technical Curiosity and Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment while also managing individual assigned tasks independently.
  • Development and Delivery Tool Awareness: Basic knowledge of or hands-on experience with tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, JIRA, DevOps tools, or Adobe.
  • Compliance and Standards Awareness: Familiarity with compliance regulations and industry standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, or similar governance and security frameworks.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting ability, and attention to detail when working through technical and business challenges.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with team members, clients, and stakeholders across different levels of an organization.
  • Learning Agility: Curiosity and eagerness to learn emerging tools, technologies, SAP capabilities, and consulting practices.
Preferred technical and professional experience
  • SAP Technical Exposure: Exposure to SAP BTP, OData services, SAP UI5, Cloud Platform Integration (CPI), and SAP Fiori development tools and technologies through coursework, internships, certifications, projects, or other practical experience.
  • Exposure to SAP development concepts, enterprise application development, or integration work in academic or project settings.
  • Experience using JIRA, DevOps tools, or version control and ticketing platforms.
  • Demonstrated customer service or customer-facing experience, including the ability to work effectively with end users or clients.
  • Evidence of leadership, initiative, or the ability to communicate with multiple levels of management and stakeholders.
  • Exposure to SAP Fiori, UI5 development, integration services, or cloud-based SAP solutions through coursework, labs, or certifications.
