Your Role and Responsibilities
This is a managed service provider (MSP) for Army IT systems and we support enterprise applications owners in migrating their systems into AWS and also provide sustainment services to support their applications. This position is for an administrator to support these applications from a migration, modernization, and sustainment role.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Collaborate with customers to understand their application environments, evaluate any architectural changes they may need, and develop an architecture that meets the application requirements and utilizes a cloud native approach as much as possible.
  • Prepare and submit build and process documentation internally and with external providers to facilitate application deployment and upgrades.
  • Deploy and sustain cloud infrastructure to support customer applications.
  • Provide daily administration of the Linux based Virtual Machines.
  • Harden the Linux based services per commercial best practices and the required government cybersecurity controls.
  • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis of any Linux issues.
  • Coordinate and perform major OS version upgrades of virtual machines needing upgrades.
  • Develop and maintain system, infrastructure, and process documentation (system diagrams, network topology, software configurations, device configurations, standard operating procedures).
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for deployment and sustainment of Linux based services
  • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis of customer application issues to include network, storage, operating


Required Technical and Professional Expertise
*** This position requires a Secret Security clearance or higher (US Citizenship is required) ***

  • Required Certifications: AWS cert, Security+ (Or equivalent IA cert) and computing environment certification (i.e. Amazon Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, etc. strongly preferred). Relevant computing environment certification (i.e. Red Hat Certified System Administrator, Red Hat Certified Engineer, etc.)
  • Senior level Cloud Engineer experience – IaaS required, some PaaS experience preferred.
  • Experience effectively managing multiple large-scale projects in a fast paced environment
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (Ansible, Terraform, Python, Powershell, Bash, Puppet, Chef, etc.)


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 3-5 years of experience in cloud security engineering, with a focus on RHEL and SAP environments.
  • Expertise in building and maintaining RHEL images, specifically for SAP applications.
  • 3+ years of experience with developing cloud system requirements (AWS and Azure) and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • In-depth understanding of security practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and network security (NIST and CIS Security frameworks).
  • Working knowledge of DoD STIGs, and IA Vulnerability Management (IAVM) – preferred.
