Your role and responsibilities

Package Specialist, IBM Corporation, Armonk, NY and various unanticipated client sites throughout the US:

  • Perform requirement-gathering, analyze, and estimate the technical feasibility of new business requirements.
  • Translate the business and functional requirements to technical requirements and create technical design documents and test plans.
  • Perform the design, architecting and coordination for the business requirements.
  • Create Unit test plan, Integration test plan and Requirement Traceability and review offshore project deliverables.
  • Review the development and codes to ensure high quality of product delivery to business.
  • Manage cloud migration assessment of various ETL applications and their implementation plan.
  • Resolve high priority production issues within the agreed timelines of business.
  • Handle business-critical applications to avoid any business loss due to application downtime and address the high priority production tickets.
  • Analyze the application areas where improvements can be done to stabilize the system and add values to business.
  • Optimize the SAP BW codes to improve the performance of critical batch jobs at mapping, session, transformation, and workflow levels.
  • Analyze business critical job failures and issues and provide workaround to mitigate the problem.
  • Execute root cause analysis and provide solution for permanent fix.
  • Serve as a focal point for the Business and IT (Information Technology) team to coordinate the incident management for service requests and incident tickets using BMC remedy tool, change management process to handle minor and medium enhancements using power steering tool for SAP BW and SAP BOBJ applications in the EIM (Enterprise Information Management) areas.
  • Utilize: SAP Business Intelligence (BI), SAP BusinessObjects (BOBJ), SAP Information Steward (IS), SAP Data Services (DS), SAP ERP Central Component (ECC) extractors, SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization (APO) extractors.

Required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or related (employer will accept a Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of progressive experience in lieu of a Master’s degree) and one (1) year of experience as an Application Developer or related. One (1) year of experience must include utilizing SAP Business Intelligence (BI), SAP BusinessObjects (BOBJ), SAP Information Steward (IS), SAP Data Services (DS), SAP ERP Central Component (ECC) extractors, SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization (APO) extractors. $152859 to $155000 per year. The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
