Your role and responsibilities

We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Security Business Development Executive to support our cybersecurity sales efforts. In this role, you will assist in identifying, developing, and closing security solutions opportunities for small to mid-sized clients. You will work closely with senior sales leaders, technical teams, and partners to understand client needs and drive revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities:

- Sales & Business Development
Support the sales team in identifying and qualifying new security sales opportunities;
Assist in developing and executing sales strategies for cybersecurity products and services;
Work with marketing and lead generation teams to engage prospective customers;
Build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders;
Conduct research on industry trends, competitor offerings, and client security needs;

- Solution Selling & Customer Engagement
Learn and articulate IBM Security offerings (or other company products) to prospective clients;
Work with technical teams to develop tailored security solutions that address customer challenges;
Assist in preparing sales presentations, proposals, and RFP responses;
Participate in client meetings, demos, and discussions to understand security requirements;

- Pipeline & Sales Operations
Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, and sales activities in CRM tools;
Track sales performance metrics and provide regular updates to sales leadership;
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including pre-sales engineers and delivery teams, to ensure successful deal closure.

This role can be performed from anywhere in the US.

Required technical and professional expertise

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field;
- 1-3 years of experience in sales, business development, or cybersecurity-related roles (internships included);
- Strong interest in cybersecurity and technology sales;
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to learn quickly, take initiative, and work in a fast-paced environment;
- Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and sales methodologies is a plus;
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity solutions such as threat management, cloud security, and compliance frameworks is an advantage.
