Your role and responsibilities

You are a UX designer passionate about designing the experiences and structural foundations for products, services, and systems. You are experienced at communicating design needs and advocating for users when working with colleagues to successfully weigh customer outcomes and business impact. You are a problem-solver with strong work ethic and self-motivation who brings an ownership mindset and clear point of view to your work. This position will give you the opportunity to demonstrate strategic leadership, technical curiosity, and tenacity.

Responsibilities:

Design

  • Applying a solid foundation in typography, layout, and design as well as knowledge of human-centered design best practices.
  • Interpreting research insights to define user experience goals and design principles that are conscious of user needs, context, and accessibility.
  • Designing pathways of navigation through an experience, demonstrating understanding of content, functions, information, and relationships within the system.
  • Designing wireframes, interactive prototypes, specifications, interaction patterns, and other artifacts.
  • Crafting beautiful user experiences that support product business goals, effectively managing design resources and prioritizing tasks when needed.

Cross-functional collaboration and alignment

  • Collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams of product managers, engineers, and designers in an agile environment to define strategies and lead the creation of best-in-class design patterns.
  • Cultivating a healthy, collaborative, and trusting team culture where you are comfortable giving and receiving feedback and asking for direction when needed.
  • Work independently, with a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to teamwork.
  • Work in an agile environment with dynamic schedules and priorities.
  • Demonstrate a volunteer spirit with a ‘we succeed as a team’ attitude.
  • Use excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Required education
High School Diploma/GED
Preferred education
Bachelor's Degree
Required technical and professional expertise
  • Experience (1 year) collaborating with UX researchers and translating insights from into appropriate product features that are accessible and put the customer at the center.
  • Experience (1 year) building user interface mockups (low- and high- fidelity), patterns, mockups, storyboards, interactive prototypes, and development-ready specifications.
  • Great sense of typography, iconography, color theory, and visual composition and a strong, clean visual design sense.
  • Experience with design tools (Figma, Sketch, InVision, Adobe Creative Cloud, etc.).
  • Portfolio of previous work must be presented incorporating UI designs and/or sketches that demonstrate an understanding of design best practices across different platforms and devices.
Preferred technical and professional experience
  • Understand modern design thinking and design trends (including responsiveness and accessibility).
  • Understand different industries to better gauge how design issues and users can differ across them.
  • Experience influencing multidisciplinary teams, communicating design needs, and accurately scoping your team’s work to drive action towards business goals.
  • Experience (1 year) in solving complex user problems using design thinking strategies.
