In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Your role and responsibilities

  • Lead the technical delivery of Maximo implementations and enhancements, acting as the primary technical authority on assigned projects or workstreams.

  • Translate business and functional requirements into well-structured technical designs, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with Maximo best practices.

  • Design and oversee the development of Maximo customizations, configurations, and integrations, including Automation Scripts, MBO extensions, workflows, and REST/SOAP services.

  • Provide hands-on technical guidance and day-to-day leadership to junior and intermediate technical consultants, including design review, code review, and problem-solving support.

  • Own and review technical design documentation (TDDs), integration designs, and deployment artifacts to ensure quality and consistency across deliverables.

  • Lead or significantly contribute to Maximo upgrades, MAS 8.x transitions, environment configuration, and deployment activities across Dev, Test, and Production environments.

  • Coordinate and guide data migration activities, including mapping, validation, defect resolution, and cutover support.

  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical, performance, and integration issues, performing root-cause analysis and recommending sustainable solutions.

  • Collaborate closely with functional leads, project managers, architects, and client stakeholders to align technical execution with project scope, timelines, and outcomes.

  • Support technical estimation, planning, and risk identification during project initiation and delivery phases.

  • Ensure technical solutions comply with security, integration, and data governance standards defined for the engagement.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying reusable patterns, templates, and approaches that improve delivery efficiency and quality.

Required education
Associate's Degree/College Diploma
Required technical and professional expertise

  • 6–10 years of experience implementing and supporting IBM Maximo in a technical or technical-lead capacity, including ownership of technical delivery on medium-to-large engagements.

  • Strong proficiency in Java, SQL, and Automation Scripts (Jython/Python), with the ability to design and review complex customizations rather than solely execute them.

  • Solid hands-on experience with the Maximo Integration Framework (MIF), including REST/SOAP services, queues, data imports, and common enterprise integration patterns.

  • Strong understanding of Maximo and MAS architecture, including MBOs, workflows, escalations, domains, database configuration, and performance considerations.

  • Experience leading or playing a key technical role in Maximo upgrades, MAS 8.x transitions, and environment configuration across Dev/Test/Prod landscapes.

  • Experience supporting data migration activities, including source-to-target mapping, ETL execution, data validation, and cutover support.

  • Working knowledge of application servers (WebSphere, WebLogic, Liberty) and Oracle/DB2/SQL Serverdatabases, with the ability to troubleshoot environment and performance issues.

  • Proven ability to lead technical workstreams, coordinate technical resources, and provide day-to-day technical guidance within project teams.

  • Experience producing and reviewing technical design documentation (TDDs), integration designs, deployment artifacts, and support documentation.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with demonstrated experience conducting root-cause analysis for technical and integration issues.

  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for functional leads, project managers, and client stakeholders.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience; IBM Maximo / MAS certification considered an asset.
