In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
As an Application Developer specializing in Azure Cloud Modernization, you will deliver modernization design and build engagements through expertise in various migration and modernization tools. You will leverage your knowledge of legacy modernization code refactoring, application code conversion, and microservices to drive solution delivery. Your primary responsibilities will include: • Design and Implement Modernization Solutions: Deliver modernization design and build engagements through expertise in various migration and modernization tools, including installation, configuration, and optimization as per engagement requirements. • Refactor Legacy Code: Apply knowledge of legacy modernization code refactoring, such as RPG to .NET, VB6 to .NET, and legacy code to 4GL, to change the platform of application codebases. • Convert Workloads to Containers: Utilize expertise in building microservices and converting workloads into containers from legacy application code bases, using tools like Azure Container Instances (ACI) and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). • Optimize Application Code: Apply advanced knowledge of technical and functional aspects to convert application code into containers through modular design, using PowerShell scripting and Azure services like Azure Service Fabric and Azure Logic Apps. • Collaborate on Solution Delivery: Work with stakeholders to deliver modernization solutions, leveraging knowledge of modernization tools and legacy platforms, including mainframe, iSeries/AS400, and Solaris.

• Advanced PowerShell Scripting: Exposure to creating complex PowerShell scripts for automating tasks and workflows in Azure cloud environments, including Azure Container Instances (ACI) and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). • Legacy Platform Knowledge: Experience working with multiple legacy platforms, including mainframe, iSeries/AS400, and Solaris, with an understanding of their architecture and limitations. • Azure Service Fabric Expertise: Exposure to designing and implementing scalable and secure applications using Azure Service Fabric, with knowledge of its features and best practices.
