As a Red Hat BU Finance Planning Advisor specializing in Financial Analysis, you will manage the reporting, analysis, and business partnering for the OpenShift, Application Services, and Edge products.
To be successful, you'll need to be able to clearly communicate and analyze bookings and revenue performance and trends, and understand how the business operates and fits into the broader Red Hat and IBM portfolio.
Providing in depth bookings and revenue analysis for the OpenShift, Application Services, and Edge teams, including QBRs, monthly BLTs, and additional ad-hoc reporting
Supporting fiscal year planning for the product organization and assisting in the development of financial-based justification for the expansion in your business areas
Working with the OpenShift, Application Services, and Edge business partners to drive a deeper financial understanding of their area and further insights into how they can grow
Developing an understanding of Red Hat’s product portfolio in order to identify financial trends and provide value-added analysis
4+ years of progressive financial experience including financial planning and analysis; a background in a technology field is a plus
Demonstrated business acumen with an ability to think strategically and analytically
Communication and presentation skills with a demonstrated ability to interact successfully with senior management
Experience coding in SQL
Problem solving and financial-modeling skills in spreadsheets with an ability to navigate Snowflake Systems
Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting with a solid understanding of applied accounting and finance concepts
• In-Depth Accounting Knowledge: Experience in applying key accounting principles related to balance sheet, cash flow, and income statement to inform financial analysis and recommendations.
Understanding of how assets, liabilities, revenue, cost, and expense are identified, measured, recorded, and reported.
• Financial Planning Expertise: Experience in providing guidance on financial planning considerations, such as forecasting, trend and variance analysis, capital planning, and portfolio analysis to inform business decisions. Ability to develop deep insights into financial performance and present recommendations to business line executives.
