Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented below is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

About the role

Join Our Team as a Long-Haul Trucking Claims Advisor!

Are you a dynamic and skilled professional ready to tackle an exciting new challenge? Our Long-Haul Trucking Claims team is looking for someone just like you to jump in and make an impact!

Based in Ontario, this 14-month secondment/contract position offers the chance to play a crucial role in ensuring prompt and fair settlements for physical damage and cargo claims across Canada and the US. If this sounds like your kind of opportunity, we can’t wait to hear from you!

What you'll do here:

  • Dive into both routine and complex claims, analyzing insurance policies to determine coverage and assess fair entitlements.

  • Engage in timely and respectful communication with customers, brokers, claimants, lawyers, and other insurers to effectively resolve claims.

  • Spearhead investigations and settlements of cargo and environmental losses, while managing cases that span across Canada and the US.

  • Collaborate with our Bodily Injury team on significant losses to mitigate exposure and ensure compliance with legislative requirements.

What you bring to the table:

  • CIP designation is considered a strong asset, alternatively have obtained credit for “C11 – Principles and Practices” or will obtain credit within 3 months.

  • Knowledge of provincial legislation governing auto insurance; Atlantic Provincial Licenses is considered a strong asset.

  • At least 2 years of experience adjusting commercial auto claims; Long Haul Trucking experience is a plus.

  • Bilingualism in English and French is a strong asset.

  • Expertise in handling moderate to complex claims and practicing effective negotiation.

  • Strong analytical skills paired with decision-making prowess and excellent time management.
