The CMDB, Senior Specialist will have responsibilities in Interac’s enterprise IT Asset Management (ITAM) practice, through the compliance to processes, procedures, and policies, aligned with ITIL and ISO/IEC compliance standards. This role will own and manage the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of Interac’s CMDB/CSDM as it relates to hardware and software IT assets, reporting directly to the Leader, BISO & IT Compliance Management.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • An ITIL aligned and ISO/IEC 27001 compliant ITAM practice.

  • Auditability of assets through the entire asset lifecycle

  • Integrity and 360-degree coverage of Interac’s CMDB/CSDM

  • Recording and maintaining CIs (within scope) in the CMDB

  • Performing configuration audits and remediation and assisting the Process Manager with audits and report generation

  • Ensuring that the CMDB is updated upon successful change implementation (any manual updates, as most updates will be propagated from Discovery/BigFix)

  • Meet with product and process stakeholders to gather necessary information for decision-making to map Services and Service offerings.

  • Continuous improvement of the CMDB/CSDM

  • Maintaining an indexable, searchable, and reportable CMDB/CSDM

  • The entire CMDB/CSDM lifecycle, including CI relationship mappings.

  • Responsible for the discovery data in the global IT environment, including managing new subnets and v-centers and analyzing CI discovery issues.

  • Troubleshoots reported Discovery errors and anomalies and apply solutions or workarounds to the known problems.

  • Provides analysis and identifies the root cause of Discovery and related CMDB issues.

  • Develops clear and concise documentation regarding the Discovery Process and Schedules updating as needed.

  • Implement Discovery Changes needed to support CMDB changes.

  • Participating and presenting in the monthly ITAM steering committee

  • Being an active stakeholder in Interac’s adjacent ITIL practices; Incident, Problem, Change, Documentation, BISO

  • Being an active stakeholder in Interac’s vendor, risk, and vulnerability management practices

You bring:

  • 5+ years experience in Information Technology, ideally with ServiceNow and CMDB/CSDM experience.

  • ISO 19770/27001 certification an asset.

  • ITIL 4 certification an asset.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Technical, Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, or Computer Engineering or equivalent.

  • Master's Degree in Technical, Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, or Computer Engineering would be an asset.

  • Experience with Asset and Configuration Management processes, procedures and Service Management processes.

  • Hands on experience with Asset / CMDB tools

  • Experience identifying, investigating, and resolving Discovery issues with working knowledge of UNIX server, Windows server, and network gear.

  • In-depth knowledge of networking, including TCP/IP ports and firewalls, network protocols, IP networks, subnetting, network devices, and virtualization environments configurations, i.e., Hyper-V, VMware.

  • In-depth knowledge of the ServiceNow reconciliation process and identifying the frameworks related to ServiceNow mapping.

  • In-depth knowledge of ServiceNow discovery patterns and scripts, especially PowerShell and JavaScript.

  • Experience with Application Service Mapping and have completed the ServiceNow discovery fundamentals certification.

  • Familiar with the Common Services Data Model.
