What You Will Do:
- Involving in Product / Platform strategy development by interlocking with one or more Product / Platform Leaders, providing architectural principles and guardrails for development and supporting backlog development/curation, release planning, and road mapping.
- Involving in Technology Strategy development by participating in the Architecture Strategy Centre of Excellence (CoE) with stewardship over a comprehensive target state architecture for T&O technology capabilities and a cross-platform roadmap for change to realize that target state over time.
- Initiating squad spike handling by identifying and evaluating alternative solutions, supporting prototyping and POCing, and guiding full product realization / operationalization of the selected solutions with platform teams.
- Advancing Platform development and alignment to product requirements by participating in a Product and Platform Community of Practice (CoP) or “Guild” with Product Architecture and other Product / Platform-Deployed EAs to continuously synchronize Product and Platform release planning, and support Product Architecture on business casing for Enabling Platform services.
- Crafting, documenting, and socializing Product / Platform Architectures according to Interac’s standards.
- Governing Product / Platform architectural change by performing peer reviews, and contributing to architecture review boards, steering committees, and/or other working groups that are deployed to supplement or replace such bodies.
What You Bring:
- Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- 5+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, with 2+ years in an enterprise or solutions architecture role
- Commitment to achieving outcomes targeted by the Product / Platform Leaders and Owners supported.
- Continuous development of deep technical knowledge for the Product(s) / Platform(s) to which you are deployed.
- Demonstrated track record designing and delivering distributed systems in production environments
- Relevant cloud-native or platform certifications or advanced experience
- Hands-on experience architecting microservices-based platforms, including service decomposition, inter-service communication patterns (REST, gRPC, async messaging), and API gateway strategies
- Proficiency in event-driven architecture, CQRS, saga patterns, and eventual consistency models
- Experience with container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, ECS/Fargate) and service mesh frameworks (Istio, Consul)
- Working knowledge of observability practices including distributed tracing, structured logging, and SLO/SLA-based monitoring (Dynatrace Splunk)

The hiring range for this position is $145K-155K base, and you will also be eligible for our short-term incentive plan. The exact amount will depend on factors such as skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, but Interac’s commitment goes beyond compensation.
