Azure Specialized is powering some of Azure’s most profitable business segments and is growing incredibly fast! We are a globally available foundational service that hosts services and customer workloads with the scale of Bing/Skype/AzureStore/SQL,AI, hosts millions of multiplayer gaming sessions, allow solving large computational problems in seconds, and running SAP mission-critical customer workload and SAP SaaS and PaaS services.


SAP workload on the Azure platform is strategic for Microsoft’s customers. Microsoft Azure is the platform of choice for many partners like SAP and customers to host SAP centric solutions in public cloud. SAP is hosting SaaS and PaaS offers for their customers on Azure.

The SAP Engineering team within Azure Specialized is focused on enabling, helping and supporting SAP to integrate SAP software, SaaS, and PaaS services into the Azure platform. Beyond that the team develops solutions and reference architectures for SAP workloads on the Azure platform.


Reliability is top of mind when running SAP on Azure. The SAP Engineering team is also engaged in designing automated tests, capable of detecting gating regressions in the platform, which can adversely impact SAP on Azure.
The team is spread globally with three main locations of the SAP headquarter in Walldorf in Germany, the Microsoft headquarter in Redmond, WA, and Hyderabad, India. The main communication language of the team is English.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
    • OR related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript,
    • OR Python
    • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience
  • 2+ years experience with Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence
  • 2+ years experience with Python, profficient with ML libraries and framerorks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Ability to work with large datasets, perform statistical analysis, and derive actionable insights.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.

Responsibilities

• Develop tooling for collecting telemetry and optimization for SAP workloads on Azure, using machine learning

• Work with select partners and customers to implement and troubleshoot automation scenarios
