The Purview Data Governance team’s mission is to deliver a market leading solution for enterprise data management, discovery, understanding, and access. The customer personas served by Purview Data Governance include the enterprise data office, enterprise-wide data owners and data stewards, and enterprise-wide data consumers across all organizational functions. We are seeking a passionate and motivated Senior Software Engineer to join us in our mission of building a market-leading SaaS product for enterprise data governance for our customers. Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

    OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Applied experience in the practice of federated data governance in a global enterprise.
  • Full stack engineering experience or desire to move in this path
  • Broad understanding of enterprise architectural considerations pertinent to SaaS solutions.
  • Applied experience in building and operating federated enterprise data management solutions.
  • Applied experience in architecting and implementing solutions with complex integrations.
  • Experience in building and shipping production-grade, large-scale, fault-tolerant cloud services and distributed systems.
  • Experience in building AI/Copilot experiences in enterprise/commercial software.
  • Experience in navigating enterprise change management.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Proficient in ReactJS, Redux, React Hooks, and building responsive, user-friendly interfaces.
  • UX Design & Experience → Not just implementing UI but designing user experiences, knowledge of usability and accessibility (WCAG). • Designing & Implementing SDKs, REST APIs, UI Controls → Experience with API design (.NET Core), building SDKs for developers, and creating reusable UI components.
  • Coding Patterns including Middleware & UX → Strong understanding of design patterns (MVC, MVVM, Factory, Observer, etc.) and middleware handling, both backend (C#) and frontend (React/Redux middleware).
  • Applied Data Structures → knowledge of data structures & algorithms, not just theoretical but applied in real-world problems (e.g., optimizing API responses, UI state management, efficient data retrieval).
  • Experience with Azure Cloud and supporting multi-tenant, multi-regional custom applications in this environment
