Microsoft’s Azure Data engineering team is leading the transformation of analytics in the world of data with products like databases, data integration, big data analytics, messaging & real-time analytics, and business intelligence. The products our portfolio include Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL DB, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure PostgreSQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, and Power BI. ​​Within Azure Data, the usage billing team builds the next-generation data platform for reliable ingestion, aggregation and processing of usage emitted at high volume by Microsoft services and submits to internal Commerce systems for an accurate and timely bill to customers. This is a mission critical service built for scale, compliance and data guarantees also leveraging our world class Azure Data real time messaging, streaming and analytics services to ensure critical billing usage data to flow into revenue for Microsoft.

​​Azure usage billing team is building the next-gen usage billing middle tier for consumption-based cloud services. As a Program Manager on the team, you have the opportunity to influence the product roadmap, define the feature set and ensure world class fundamentals and customer value. You also will engage with customer and solve billing pain points for services across the company.

Qualifications

​​Required/Minimum Qualifications:

​​

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

​​Preferred/Additional Qualifications:

  • 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
  • 4+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years of experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development ​

Technical Program Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.

Responsibilities

As a Program Manager on the team, you will:

  • Defining and implementing strategies for our platform to meet compliance requirements such as BCDR, privacy, and security.
  • Partner with engineering, compliance, and commerce partners to automate compliance workflows and reduce manual friction.
  • Develop and optimize our onboarding processes to accelerate time-to-market for our customers.
  • Engage with internal service teams to create an onboarding roadmap by understanding their onboarding challenges and billing scenarios.
  • Proactively identify compliance risks and work with stakeholders to mitigate them effectively.​
