Within Azure Data, the messaging and real-time analytics team provides comprehensive solutions and a robust platform that enables users to ingest high granularity signals (real-time & observability) and complex data, converting those into a competitive advantage in real-time for both end users and modern applications.

We're seeking a great Senior Software Engineer, who loves finding clean solutions to hard problems, tackling scale and distributed systems challenges, people with automation-first mindset. You will build new innovative real-time services, and automate their life cycle through our world-class infrastructure.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND demonstrated technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in creating high quality design, code and tests.
  • Some experience with large-scale software engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering high quality production systems/services.
  • Some of professional backend development experience.

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND demonstrated technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Application development and deployment experience with cloud services ( e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Experience in working in DevOps model.
  • Committed interest in staying current with industry trends and techniques

Responsibilities

  • Build core infrastructure and backend services for the product.
  • Drive key architecture decisions and overall direction of the product.
  • Design, develop and maintain product features using proven engineering practices.
  • Coach, mentor and provide technical guidance to more junior engineers to boost their growth.
  • Find bottlenecks in our DevOps process and improve them through smart automation.
  • Adjust our services and processes to obey the latest and greatest security and privacy standard.
  • Collaborate with other engineers within the product (Warsaw, London, Redmond) and across Microsoft.
