Overview

The Microsoft Azure Core Compute Program Management (PM) team drives cross team engagement spanning the breadth of Azure. We are part of this organization, focusing on the area of Host Storage development in Azure Core Compute. We cover many responsibilities from producing modern solutions in areas of storage performance, achieving reliability and overall deterministic Host Storage experience in Azure Core Compute, driving customer satisfaction and providing a dependable environment for Mission Critical applications on Azure.


We are looking for a Technical Program Manager II to be part of a team that will manage division-wide initiatives encompassing the Azure Host and Azure Host Storage. The role will be central to key Cloud & Artificial Intelligence (C&AI) division initiatives on customer experience and platform competitiveness, and you’ll drive some of the areas in a services platform with scale and availability targets that don’t exist in the industry today. To succeed in this role, you should be passionate about the Compute and Storage space, possess technical and analytical skills, terrific cross-group collaboration skills, and a passion for customers. You should be a creative leader with superior analytical abilities, have a track record of delivery in a services environment with a can-do attitude.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years' experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 3+ years of experience in individual technical problem solving.

Other Qualifications:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years of experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).

Technical Program Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.

Responsibilities

  • You will be part of inclusive and diverse world-class PM team to deliver new and improve existing Azure services.
  • Partner with the development teams on scenarios, product tradeoffs, incremental value delivery.
  • Work with customers and partner teams to identify scenarios and establish priorities.
  • Lead product planning areas for E2E scenarios based on customer inputs and data insights.
  • Define OKRs and establish and execute plans for improving KRs.
  • Create win-win engagements with partners across Azure and Microsoft to drive customer value.
  • Prepare and deliver high quality executive reviews.
  • You will generate energy and alignment across teams with meetings, along with clear customer and program goals.
  • Present to customers and internal stakeholders; use customer and partner feedback to continuously improve the product.
