As a Technical Program Manager - Analytics, you will enable customers to achieve their outcomes, by driving the Cloud Accelerate Factory Program for Analytics Leveraging your Microsoft Azure Analytics technical subject matter expertise, you will lead technical conversations with customers and Microsoft colleagues, to accelerate customer adoption by execution through the Cloud Accelerate Factory. You will be responsible for understanding the services and components required to deliver a particular offering, establishing clear program optimization strategies, and introducing new capabilities and technologies that revolutionize the user experience and advance the Cloud Accelerate Factory offering for Analytics. You will also play a key role in defining the service offering and roadmap to enable Microsoft’s customers to achieve amazing results in their own digital transformation.

We are looking for candidates that demonstrate business acumen, thought leadership, critical thinking, and negotiation skills with a track record of customer advocacy. The Technical Program Manager, Analytics will balance technical and business objectives and will engage and influence senior leaders internally and externally to deliver high quality solutions and user experiences. Effective negotiating, influencing, and leadership skills mixed with creativity and deep subject matter expertise will be essential to achieve strategic alignment of goals across this broad range of stakeholders. Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 1+ year(s) experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
  • Business Value: The ability to convey the business need and value of proposed solutions, plans, and risks to stakeholders and decision makers. This includes the ability to persuade and inform based on facts and alignment with goals and strategy.
  • Trusted Advisership: The ability to build trusted advisor status and deep relationships across stakeholders (e.g., technical decision makers, business decision makers) through an understanding of customer needs and technologies.
  • Situational fluency: Using self-awareness as a mechanism to interpret verbal and non-verbal cues to increase your ability to "read the room."
  • Insightful listening: asking insightful questions to understand the customer needs, issues, business environment and drivers, and going beyond what customer has said.
  • Technical: Breadth of technical experience and knowledge in foundational security, foundational AI, architecture design, with depth / Subject Matter Expertise (5+ years experience) in one or more of the following technologies where you can design and support technologies:
    • Azure Data Factory
    • Azure Data Lake
    • Azure Data Explorer
    • Azure PowerBI
    • Azure Synapse Analytics
    • Azure Data Bricks
    • CosmosDB
    • Azure Stream Analytics
    • Azure Machine Learning Service
  • Deep domain expertise in one of the Data-specific areas, such as Cloud Scale Analytics, deployments and migrations to the cloud, Data Governance, etc. OR hands-on experience working with the respective products at the expert level.
  • Experience creating Data & Analytics Proof of Concepts (PoC), Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) for customers that lead to production deployments.
  • Competitive Landscape: Knowledge of key Data & Analytics platforms such as AWS, GCP, Snowflake, etc.
  • Software development practices like DevOps and CI/CD tool chains (i.e., Jenkins, Azure Developer Services, GitHub) and container orchestration systems (i.e., Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry, Azure Kubernetes Service, GitHub).

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.

Responsibilities

As a Cloud Accelerate Factory Program lead, manage the Data Analytics migration program offering, ensuring nominations are completed on schedule, and according to scope.

  • Drive Analytics migrations with the objective of expanding and increasing Azure Data Services for existing and new customers.
  • Measure program performance, providing regular status updates and reports to senior leadership team.
  • Engage key internal stakeholders to promote Cloud Accelerate Factory adoption by offering regular insights and guidance.
  • Organize and host sessions to educate and evangelize the Analytics cloud accelerate factory offerings with (internal and/or external) customers.
  • Identify and build both process and technical collateral or assets that support program offerings
  • Review and approve migration nominations, providing guidance to determine scope and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with the cloud accelerate factory team to drive improvements and encourage ongoing enhancements in delivery offerings and quality.
  • As Technical lead, orchestrate customer migrations from Proof of Concept to Production for Azure Analytics Workloads via the Cloud Accelerate Factory and accelerate Azure consumption. Build and support pilot programs for new offerings and identify accelerators/ tooling.
  • Technical Program Management experience is highly preferred
  • "Hands on" experience creating Proof of Concepts, and Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) leading to production deployments
  • The technical aptitude and experience to learn new technologies and understand market and relevant cloud trends,

  • Identify customers'' goals for migrating to Azure, and ensure the program provides Data & Analytics solutions that deliver business value.

  • Ensure that solution exhibits high levels of performance, security, scalability, maintainability, repeatability, appropriate reusability, and reliability upon deployment.

  • Consumption (Cloud & Support) growth - Develop opportunities to drive Customer Success business results & help Customers get value from their Microsoft investments.
  • Resolution of Customer Blockers - Identify resolutions to Customer blockers by leveraging subject matter expertise. Deliver according to MS best practices & using repeatable Intellectual Property (IP), Apply technical knowledge to architect and design solutions that meet business and IT needs, create Data & Analytics roadmaps, drive POCs and MVPs, and ensure long term technical viability of new deployments, infusing key AI technologies where appropriate.

Technical Leadership

  • Be the Voice of Customer to share insights and best practices, connect with delivery team to remove key blockers and drive improvements.
  • Learn It All - Maintain technical skills and knowledge, keeping up to date with market trends and competitive insights; collaborate and share with the Data & AI technical community while educating customers on Azure platform.
  • Accelerate customer outcomes - Share expertise, contribute to IP creation & re-use to accelerate customer outcomes.
  • Broad knowledge of Azure Data & AI (Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, SQL, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Bricks, HDInsight).
  • Drive delivery teams for attending to customer expectation about providing workaround and help customers solve their technical issues as quickly as possible.
  • Effectively orchestrate and bridge the delivery through cross-functional teams, providing operational guidance to the delivery teams.

Other Professional Experience:

  • Ability to orchestrate, lead, and influence virtual teams, ensuring successful acceleration and unfreezing of customer projects.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Acknowledged for driving decisions collaboratively, ability to communicate Analytics and AI concepts effectively with business and technical audiences, resolving conflicts and ensuring follow through with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Relationship Building: Proven track record of building deep technical relationships with key stakeholders. The ability to influence and build relationships across technical and business teams.
  • Good business acumen to quickly understand the customer’s industry and business to have relevant discussions with business decision makers.
  • Good understanding of key Data and AI scenarios that are driving innovation in key industries such as financial services, Retail, Healthcare etc.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to solve customer’s Data problems through various cloud technologies.
  • Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences (Senior Executives, IT Management, Architects, Engineers)
