Job Description

Overview
At Microsoft AI, our health team is on a mission to help millions of users better understand and proactively manage their health and wellbeing. We’re responsible for ensuring that Microsoft AI’s models and services are useful, trusted and safe across diverse customer health journeys.
The Microsoft Health AI team is looking for a Business Program Manager to work closely with evolving cross-functional teams to drive strategic initiatives, optimise operational processes, and contribute to our overall success.
Across all our hires, it’s important for colleagues to share our enthusiasm about the role of technology and AI in health and healthcare, but also appreciate the challenges and risks of delivering effective solutions in a complex and safety critical space. By design, we will remain a lean team (albeit within a much larger organisation), and as such you will need to be action orientated, self-sufficient and actively help to cultivate and promote a positive team culture.
Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.
Responsibilities
  • Manage a dynamic portfolio of programs by tracking progress against milestones, monitoring resource allocation and dependencies, and facilitating prioritisation to ensure timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.
  • Integrate and analyse market research and healthcare trends to generate actionable insights that inform strategic decisions, identify growth opportunities, refine program direction, and drive long-term impact.
  • Identify opportunities for workflow improvements and automation that streamline operations, enhance efficiency, and drive scalability across workstreams.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously refine the operational tools, trackers, and best practices that enable cross-functional teams to execute effectively.
  • Anticipate, monitor, and mitigate operational risks and dependencies by acting as the central point of accountability to swiftly resolve issues and maintain program momentum.
  • Produce high-quality reports, dashboards, and presentations that clearly communicate insights, recommendations, and progress updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders, ensuring the team remains informed and aligned.
  • Engage in both high-level strategic planning and ground-level execution, championing a collaborative team culture that thrives in ambiguity, embraces innovation and continuous learning, and adapts to evolving challenges.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Medicine, Life Sciences, Business, Management or a related field AND/OR experience in program management, strategy, operations, consulting, or a related role, preferably within the healthcare or technology sectors.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare market in US, UK and/or other major territories and understanding of the role technology and AI can play.
  • Ability to produce high quality written and presentation materials with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Work at high speed with autonomy in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Relish ambiguity/ uncertainty.
