Overview

The OneFleet Platform (OFP) team focuses on the foundational, resource lifecycle and compliances aspects of Microsoft’s cloud platform. The organization's portfolio spans change systems, fundamentals (engineering systems, observability, quality and resilience), foundational primitives, buildout, decommissioning and Azure compliance. The team enables the safe, scalable, and efficient evolution of Azure and improves the foundations of platform quality for every customer.


We are seeking a visionary and execution-focused Principal Product PM Manager to lead a team of technical product and program managers driving the next generation of foundational services. This role is central to Azure’s success—owning the strategy and delivery of systems that govern how Azure is deployed, managed, and monitored at scale.

This is an opportunity to shape the future of cloud infrastructure at one of the world’s largest cloud providers. You’ll work across engineering, operations, and compliance teams to define product strategy, drive innovation (including Artificial Intelligence-powered capabilities), and deliver measurable impact on platform quality, resilience, and customer trust.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years people management experience.
  • 10+ years of cloud service product management experience.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years people management experience.

Product Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $163,000 - $296,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $220,800 - $331,200 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and coach teams to define business impact across the organization and track success criteria for multiple infrastructure and engineering systems products across divisions related to platform capabilities improving quality and safety. You’ll also provide strategic direction in identifying long-term investment opportunities and will ensure teams engage partners to garner support for those feature areas.
  • Lead teams in defining a feature set and facilitate usability reviews with customers. You’ll oversee teams owning the roadmap for multiple feature areas across divisions.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in product management, ensuring our practices remain cutting-edge.
  • Help teams partner with others to collect performance metrics and form hypotheses for technical needs in order to measurably improve product development industry-wide. You’ll also ensure teams identify features to deprecate, manage customer communities, and build trust with targeted customers across sectors.
  • Innovate product management practices across foundational Azure services and champion the adoption of generative Artificial Intelligence tools to streamline roadmap planning, customer feedback synthesis, and engineering system efficiency, setting a new standard for scalable, data-informed decision-making across the platform.
