As a Data Engineer II in the Models Engineering team within Microsoft Security AI, you will play a critical role in shaping the infrastructure and pipelines that power advanced security intelligence. Working at the intersection of cutting-edge AI research and real-world threat protection, you will design, optimize, and scale data solutions that enable high-performance model training and deployment. Your contributions will ensure that Microsoft Security remains at the forefront of AI-driven defense, providing robust, adaptive, and trustworthy protection across complex digital environments. In this role, precision, efficiency, and strategic thinking are paramount, as you help drive innovation in security technology while maintaining the highest standards of reliability and integrity.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years experience in data engineering, building and optimizing large-scale data pipelines and architectures.
- OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) experience in data engineering, building and optimizing large-scale data pipelines and architectures.
- OR equivalent experience.
- Programming skills in languages such as Python, Scala, or SQL for data processing and automation.
- Expertise in distributed computing frameworks like Spark, Hadoop, or other cloud-based data solutions.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, with a focus on data storage, processing, and security.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred/Additional Qualifications:
- Understanding of machine learning workflows and data requirements for AI-driven security models.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and familiarity with threat intelligence or anomaly detection in security applications.
Data Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.

- Ensure data integrity and reliability by implementing rigorous validation, monitoring, and governance practices.
- Drive innovation in data engineering by exploring new technologies, architectures, and methodologies to improve AI security performance.
