The Mojang Franchise Technologies and Services organization is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Minecraft to help drive innovation on our Trust and Safety team. Our team is accountable for ensuring our players have a world-class experience across all our games and experiences, with a focus on the areas of safety and product security. As an engineer on Trust and Safety, you will work closely with Product Management and Design to architect and own Minecraft game code that delights our players by delivering maintainable code that’s well tested, performant, and adherent to best practices.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C# or Java
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience developing in C++, preferably cross-platform.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years of experience developing in C++ with an understanding of the architecture of modern game engines (component-based, event-driven, etc.)
  • Extensive troubleshooting and debugging skills.
  • Ability to quickly prototype, iterate, and take initiative to drive progress.
  • Experience working with mobile, console, or PC entertainment

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
