Overview

Would you like the opportunity to work on OS platform that powers Azure? You will be part of Microsoft Core OS team in Azure Edge + Platform org. Our team is responsible for development of technologies to deploy OS updates to Azure fleet with minimal customer impact. How do you deliver impact-less updates on-time and every time to an ever growing fleet? How do you deploy impactful OS updates while keeping the millions of VMs up and running? How do you build the infrastructure for flighting and experimentation to reduce the time to bring features to market faster than ever before? If these challenges intrigue you, come talk to us.
We are looking for solid engineers with the passion to research new areas, write optimal code, enhance coding standards and ship fast. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science or Engineering or a related field
  • 3+ year of software development experience
  • 1+ year of experience on cloud technologies
  • 1+ year of experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: C/C++/C#, Java, or Python
  • Experience working with large scale distributed systems
  • Solid design, development, and testing skills
  • A strong problem solver. We expect you to own scenarios end-to-end across multiple components
  • Be comfortable moving up / down the stack and writing code in both managed and native languages
  • Exposure to live site engineering

Responsibilities

  • Design and Develop secure, testable and maintainable code
  • Execute full software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Embrace agile engineering practices and dev-ops culture with Live Site focus. End to End engineering (from architecture to Livesite) accountability for the services
  • Carry out quick proofs of concepts
  • Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systems
  • Develop end to end telemetry pipeline and live site monitors and alerts
  • Leverage data and telemetry to make decisions and drive feedback into systems design and implementation
  • Coach and mentor the junior engineers in the team
