As a Software Engineer II on the Hybrid Identity team, you will play a key role in building and evolving the synchronization engine that bridges on-premises identity systems with Microsoft Entra ID. You’ll work at the heart of hybrid identity, contributing to the reliability, scalability, and performance of one of Microsoft’s most critical identity services. This is a hands-on engineering role where you’ll design and implement core components using .NET and modern Azure services. You’ll collaborate across teams to ensure secure and seamless identity provisioning for millions of users. You’ll also be expected to debug complex synchronization issues, automate recovery workflows, and drive durable fixes that improve the health of our production systems.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years experience working with active directory and on premise identity systems.

Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Responsibilities

Collaborates with product managers, architects, and partner teams to understand hybrid identity scenarios and define technical requirements for synchronization workflows.

Designs and implements robust, scalable, and secure synchronization features using .NET and other Microsoft technologies to connect on-premises directories with Microsoft Entra ID.

Writes clean, maintainable, and testable code while continuously improving performance, reliability, and observability of the sync engine. Participates in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release planning to ensure alignment with team goals and customer needs.

Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) for Entra Connect Sync components, responding to incidents, performing root cause analysis, and driving long-term fixes.

Stays current with identity trends, directory technologies, and cloud infrastructure patterns to inform design decisions and improve operational excellence.
