The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Frameworks team at Microsoft develops AI software that enables running AI models everywhere, from the world’s fastest AI supercomputers, to servers, desktops, mobile phones, IoT devices, and internet browsers. We collaborate with hardware teams and partners to build the software stacks for AI across Microsoft.
We are looking for an experienced Principal Product Manager to join our team and be at the forefront of on-device AI model acceleration across billions of devices worldwide. As a key member of our team, you will have the unique opportunity to work on the latest and most advanced AI models, ensuring they run seamlessly on a variety of devices, from desktops to mobile phones. Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
- OR equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in AI developer tooling, SDK
- 1+ year of experience uncovering market opportunities, ideating and prototyping AI solutions, and building developer-ready demos/sample integrations to drive adoption
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred/Additional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree AND 10+ years’ experience in product/service/program management or software development
- Ability to identify and understand customer needs, quickly iterate products based on customer feedback, and translate these insights into effective product designs
- Data analysis and telemetry experience
- In-depth knowledge of AI model inferencing, particularly on devices inferencing
- Hands-on use of development tools for AI models and their lifecycle
- Collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with partners and engineering teams
- Familiarity with the latest trends in AI with a passion for continous improvement
Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.

Responsibilities
- Define and communicate a clear product vision and strategy.
- Collaborate with teams to build product roadmap and manage product lifecycle.
- Prioritize features based on impact, technical feasibility, and business value; maintain a well-groomed backlog.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and customers.
- Conduct market research to identify potential customers and channels for product adoption.
- Drive product telemetry, track business impact, and use analytics and telemetry to inform product enhancements and roadmap.
