Overview
As the AI Intake & Platform Strategy Director you will have a dual-mandate, starting with the deep strategic understanding and direction-setting of our Azure AI portfolio to identify, prioritize, and close strategic gaps: consulting with marketing, business planning, business development, and others to and enhance our product positioning. This is a highly collaborative role demanding creation of decision-documents that win hearts and budgets for our key stakeholders. You will also drive the operating model for how our Marketing team itself uses AI—defining playbooks, upskilling, tooling, and meeting rhythms that boost velocity and reduce toil. In this AI enablement role, you will be expected to develop a deep understanding of the portfolio and support customers and internal teams in effectively leveraging its capabilities.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 4+ years experience in business
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 6+ years experience in business
- OR equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in product or product-marketing leadership in data/AI.
Preferred Qualification
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science
- 5+ years of experience in product or product leadership in data/AI.
- Experience translating technical concepts into succinct executive-ready collateral.
- Experience steering cross-disciplinary teams and budgets.
- Working knowledge of Azure services and cloud; certifications or experience.
- Experience using Python & SQL sufficient to prototype demos and speak credibly with developers; understanding of high level AI concepts, with relevant experience.
- Prior experience leading (AI-driven) process change; especially in marketing or engineering teams.
- Public-speaking experience at developer or AI conferences, or analyst relations experience.
- Experience with open-source AI frameworks and contributing to community.
Product Marketing IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year.

Responsibilities
- Regularly review messaging, Marketplace Partner Frameworks (MPFs), and demo assets across the Azure AI stack for gaps and strategic improvements, coordinating with cross-functional and primary DRIs in the organization on business strategy.
- Participate in and consult on the end-to-end solution play alignment for Azure AI for Microsoft’s semi-annual go to market strategy motions.
- Lead cross-functional launch squads (Product, Engineering, Brand, Field, Business Planning) to land strategic features or products of strategic importance to the portfolio.
- Define “AI-powered marketing” best practices and enable the team as a primary role function; pilot workflows that embed Copilot/AI Foundry into team operations, planning, content creation, and team meetings. Leverage this to expose gaps in the platform. Oversee budget and vendor staff associated with these activities.
- Manage a ~$500k–$1MM direct program budget, allocating spend to drive ai enablement, pipeline, and product usage for key business areas. Steer larger Microsoft corporate spend for much larger marketing campaigns.
- Produce crisp one-pagers and exec briefs that distill complex data/AI insights for decision-making for matters of strategic importance.
- Serve as technical thought-partner to PM/Engineering; evangelize roadmap at events and with analysts.
